Hello Mr Morris,I apologize if we made you feel like a second class citizen due to being a CLC cardholder. The CLC program is a great thing and we choose to opt into it, and to provide a discounted rate to those card carrying individuals that select to stay with us. There are terms to our agreement with CLC that we follow, as those are the rules of our contract. Those rules include a number of things - no IHG One Reward Points, upgraded room styles are not included in this arrangement and no free water. To be fair, no one gets free water unless they choose it over points as a welcome amenity and that is relative to their tier in the IHG One Rewards program. As a CLC partner, we follow the rules to the letter of our agreement. You are part of 2 programs but you cannot reap the benefits of both of these at the same time at our property as our agreement with CLC does not allow for that. We love our CLC guests and do honor the benefits of that program for those hard working blue collar guys that you mentioned. When they want more than what the CLC program provides, like complimentary room upgrades, free water and points, it gets awkward to explain and we obviously upset you. We apologize. Our agreement with CLC excludes those perks and we are not the only hotel that follows the rules of our agreement with CLC. Hotels that are violating the agreement and providing additional benefits are doing it wrong and make the rest of that do adhere to the terms look bad. I hope that you return to our hotel in the future with the understanding that we have kept our promise to CLC by providing exactly what we promised to provide in our contract with CLC. Things not included with the CLC discount program will not be applied to CLC members, even when they are requested, as those perks are outside of that agreement. Again, I’m sorry if we offended you - that was never our intention. We do value you and all of our CLC guests and we provide every aspect of our contract with CLC to the letter of that agreement, and nothing short of that.
