WoodSpring Suites Lakeland

It was very basic with NO FRILLS, but it served the purpose for a clean bed & hot shower. Rooms: I had a full bed with open storage under the bed. There was not anything but soap & towels provided (no shampoo, no lotions, etc. Kitchenette with no dishes, pan, or silverware. Come prepared on your own. Also, no USB ports are available.

Where do I begin? While we checked in, another person came up to the counter and said their card didn't work. Without any firm of verification, the desk person just asked what room number and reprogrammed it. Then, we were given a room. When we got to the room, the key card worked but the door didn't open because it was locked from the inside - WE WERE GIVEN SOMEONE ELSE'S ROOM! We went back to the front desk and we were given another room that the front desk person checked was empty first. That room had a smaller than expected bed and the kitchenette didn't have working burners. When we checked in, we inquired about hair dryers and the response recieved was similar to "no, why would we have those?" The halls on the first floor smelled unpleasantly different every few feet. Like wet dog, then smoke, then more wet dog. This place was booked via the Extended Stay America web site. After this experience, we will never stay at an Extended Stay America property again!

Really close to my job and rates are usually pretty good. Can't book direct with hotel, they rely entirely on 3rd party bookings, where I prefer to book directly with a property.
