New to the area I went scouting on Groupon to find a solid place to get my routine Brazilians. I was pleased to snag a deal here; was very easy to make an appointment, but that’s about where the good ended. I definitely forgive the staff for fumbling with what we’re obviously newer COVID protocols at the time of my appointment, but was baffled when I was left in an odd corner to fill out paperwork with no clear instruction on where to go or what to do when I was done. Not the most relaxing environment when someone stumbles upon you and has to go find out why you’re waiting.
When I was moved back for my appointment I was briefed of what to expect of the service (very important for a Brazilian!) but was then immediately informed that they “usually don’t wax as far down” as I would “need” (yes, I have very prolific body hair) but that they would do it “this time”. No mention was made of charging me for extra wax (which would have been acceptable) or any other options, just that in the future I wouldn’t receive a full Brazilian and would essentially have stripes of fur on my upper legs. I accept that my body is unusual and may call for extra products but no concession was made for me to feel comfortable; more of an impression that in the future I should plan to figure out how to wax myself for the parts that they won’t wax. I absolutely did not walk out feeling confident about myself.
TL;DR if you have slightly more than average body hair don’t waste your time or money. Or be prepared to feel shamed for the fact that your body doesn’t conform to their standards.
