    Dr. Richard Aquila was recommended to me by several friends. Recently, he removed a fractured titanium screw and started the process for a new implant. As a patient, I recommend him without hesitation. He is an excellent, dedicated periodontist and an extremely skilled surgeon. Dr. Aguila is very professional, friendly, and kind. He made sure that I was comfortable during the entire procedure. Dr. Aquila and his assistant are aware that I am profoundly hearing impaired, so both were careful to make sure that I understood everything that was said. Thanks to Dr. Aguilla and his entire staff. I could not ask for better care.

    Today I had an appointment to see Dr. Aguila and due to an accident on the road, I arrived 11 minutes late. I called and said I couldn't find their office. I received directions and was told that they were running a few minutes behind but to come in. I arrived and was told that they had tried to call me, which was not true. I received paper work to fill out and sat down. The nurse came out and said they could not see me since I was 20 minutes late.I checked my phone and I was not .She was off by 5 . I explained there was bad traffic traveling at 20 miles an hour and I had no control over it. It seems to me that the staff books the appointments to close together. I had driven 35 minutes to get there. If they were running late, so why couldn't they see me? I do not feel that I was treated fairly.Who can control traffic? Extremely disappointed!

    Update: 11/10/2021: After agreeing with the office manager, Lydia, to pay a small monthly amount and pay this balance off (even though we should not have been charged the extra amount anyway) she still sent this bill to the collection agency and now it has affected our credit score. When my son called to talk to her about it, she claimed that "your mom did not hold up her end of the deal and pay the monthly amount we agreed on." She was so mean to him and so demeaning, to an 18-year-old kid who is trying to talk about a bill on his parent's behalf. I could not even speak with the collection agency about it because they put the bill in my son's name, who was 15 at the time of the procedure, not exactly paying his own medical bills at that point, or even now at 18 since he is in still in school. He finally convinced them to put the bill back in my name so that I could at least talk to them about it. The office manager Lydia promised to send me a monthly invoice showing the balance due. I never got an invoice, so I did not pay it out of thin air each month. Then when a few months went by and I did not send payment (with no monthly invoice) she send it to collections. We have worked so hard to improve and keep our credit score high and it is so disheartening when a practice has absolutely no care in the world for the people they claim to take care of. It is truly just about money and it is sad. I do not recommend this practice or this doctor. In 2017 Dr. Aguila performed a frenectomy and gingivectomy on my son who was then 15. The procedure went ok, I paid my portion all up front (we have medical and dental insurance so they told me what my amount would be). My son had some persistent bleeding afterward and I called the office a few times but never got a call back. His pediatrician ended up talking to me about it and making sure he was ok. At that point I was disappointed in their post procedure care, especially since he was a child, but just decided I would never return to that office. But, fast forward three years and I get a bill in the mail, yep three years later, for over $300 (I had already paid around $600-700 before the procedure) and they claim the insurance didnt pay as much as anticipated and now I owed them more money. My kids have had a lot of dental and orthodontics and never have I had a provider charge me three years later for services. When I called the office manager to talk to her about it they said she was with a patient and she did not return my call. Unprofessional business practices and uncaring staff and doctor.
