I have been waiting months to give this apartment a review. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I lived here for over two years, from 11/2019-2/2023. I was sacrificing living there trying to finish nursing school, so I ignored many of the issues because I had no other option for me and my children. First of all, the apartments are beyond disgusting and raggedy. I didn't cook at all during my first year because of roaches. I cleaned my place religiously and used bombers. I would wake up purposely in the middle of the night and go to my kitchen to see a congregation of roaches in the middle of my floor. I spent so much money eating out for breakfast, lunch, and dinner because the apartment was unsanitary. I had a leak in my kitchen that I notified them about multiple times, and it never got resolved. They would put tape on the worn-out pipes for a temporary fix. I only went to the pool once during my entire stay. It has been closed down for over a year for "remodeling." The pool is green, and I have never seen maintenance service it. The apartments have been under city fines for unsafe living conditions for the back staircase. My neighbor had over ten fines inside her apartment alone. Many other tenants complained about rat infestations. The garbage is always overfilled. The staff needs to be more competent, and they need to communicate more effectively. I emailed my notice to renew 3-4x from September to November and provided a hard copy. I never received a confirmation of receipt. I put stipulations in the renewal letter stating that if my repairs aren't addressed before renewing, then to disregard and I will rent on a month-to-month basis and provide a 30 days notice before vacating per the month-to-month agreement. I sent them the letter on 1/27/23 and vacated on 2/28/23. My move-out inspection was good, but they refused to provide me with any documentation for reference. They sent me a screenshot to my email showing that they documented the deposit could be refunded in my ledger. I contacted them multiple times via email and in person regarding my deposit and move-out statement. They kept informing me that corporate is responsible for sending it out. Not once did they even attempt to contact anyone on my behalf. The last day I checked in with them, they finally gave me the corporate number but wouldn't give me any names and told me "good luck" as a response to my deposit refund. I contacted corporate on multiple occasions and left several messages. I was told by a rep that names aren't supposed to be given out, so I have yet to learn who I was leaving a message for. I sent corporate a certified letter stating that I would take legal action if my deposit wasn't returned by June 10, 2023. I also sent a copy to alta mar. I never received a response. FL Civ code 83.49 states that a deposit and/or statement listing any withheld amounts must be sent to the tenant via certified mail within 30 days of vacating. To this day, I have received neither. After that time frame, the company forfeits collecting any money due. I ended up taking legal action against them, and finally, today, the case has settled. They never showed up to court. I am a good tenant and have a great rental history, so I shouldn't have gone through any of this, but the company seems to be having financial troubles. If you are going through a similar situation, take it to court and be aware of your tenant rights. I will never rent from anyone like this again. If you are looking for an apartment just to lay your head, then go for it because that's all you will receive. You will be paying for amenities that don't even work.

The pool is not clean or open, it attracts mosquitoes. There are roaches in the apartments the little ones that don't go away easy.
