#1) You HAVE To Give Them Your ID AND Check In (Even If You Just Need To Go To The Lab!!) My Dad Left His ID In The Car, And The Lady Made Us Go All The Way Back Through That Huge Parking Lot Just For His ID, So She Could Simply Scan It And Print A Picture. We're Not Guests Or Visiting ANYONE!! We Simply Needed To Go To The Lab!! The Second Time We Entered The Lobby, The Lady Who Attended Us (A Black Woman With A Hair Bun And Glasses), Was Called Out By The Other Desk Clerk And Asked Her "What Was She Doing?!" There Were Some People In Front Of Her Who Had No Idea What Was Going On Either Or What They Needed To Do.... #2) Both The Lady And Another Staff Member That Saw Us In The Hall, Gave Us Wrong Directions Towards The Lab. Thankfully, We Could Read The Signs.... #3) Once We Arrived At The Lab, There Were A Bunch Of Signs Everywhere Stating That IDs And Insurance Was Required. Okay, We Go To The Desk And Try And Hand Them My Lab Document. The Woman Refused And Just Held Out Her Hand Holding A Bucket Filled With Laminated Numbers. I Got My Number And Sat Down. There Also Wasn't A Designated Area Just For Labs Or Blood Work. So We Sat In The Radiology Area. We Then Waited Patiently For Over 10 Minutes Before Being Called. We Had To Go To A Booth Table/Desk In The Center Of The Entire Room. There, Another Woman Took A Look At My Lab Document And Asked Me What Insurance I Had. I Told Her I Had Sunshine Health. She Then Proceeded To Return My Documents And Told Me They Don't Work With Sunshine Health!! That I Had To Go See Quest. My Documents Clearly State That I Can Go To LabCorp!! She Said They Don't Do That. But Iii Literally Found Their Location On The OFFICIAL LabCorp Website!! It Was The FIRST One There In My City And The CLOSEST!! She Then Proceeded To Hand Me A List (Supposedly A Map), With OTHER Locations!! * So They're Prepared To Send You Off Elsewhere But Can't Announce That They Don't Work With Medicaid, Sunshine Health, OR Quest ??!! This Was A HORRIBLE Experience!! I Already Suffer From Medical Trauma And Have A Deep Fear Of Needles. I Also Haven't Eaten Anything Since 8pm YESTERDAY, And Wasn't Even Approved?!?! * WHAT THEY COULD HAVE DONE BETTER: Allowed Me To Go Straight To The Lab WithOut Waiting In A Long Line To Check In When I'm Not A Guest Nor A Visitor. A Blood Test Lab Should Only Take About 10 Minutes. At The Lab, They Should Have Verified My Insurance Before Making Me Wait. (PS: LabCorp Is Not Accepting Appointments.) Luckily, I Was Able To Make It To The Walgreens LabCorp Lab On Colonial Blvd.. Inside, There Is A Lab Section, Where You Can Sign In Quickly On The Tablets Provided (There's About 3 Available And Working). Then You Can Take A Seat There Quietly And Comfortably. The Nurse Who Drew My Blood, Iris, Was Wonderful!! She Was Accommodating And Helped Me Feel More Relaxed!! This Helped With My Fear Of Needles And She Worked Great With My Stubborn Veins!! She Instantly Made My Day Feel Better!! I'm So Glad I Didn't Wait To Get My Tests Done Another Day!!
