Cockroaches. I notified the staff and they sent someone to spray affected areas immediately. The cockroaches were back the next day. Hotel management apologized and offered to refund my resort fees (approximately 1.5% of the bill). I proposed that we not be charged for our room at all. They discussed it with higher management and offered to refund more. Not a 100%, just 10%. Disappointing to me, but you decide for yourself if 90% of the advertised price makes sense knowing your spouse may be surprised by cockroaches on the toilet seat. We certainly wont be back.

Beautiful hotel. This is my family and my go to place in Delray Beach. We stayed there for almost a week. There are a few staff members I want to show appreciation to and let Opal know they have great assets. Michael at the front desk was very friendly and a breath of fresh air. Sebastian from the cafe has a great, positive attitude, we loved his early morning energy. Mike from the poolside was always very helpful and accommodating. Austin the doorman was very kind and also had a great attitude. My only complaint is the poolside manager (blonde lady). On my last day I ordered a spicy Bloody Mary, I told the server I was going up to the room and would be right back and when I got back the drink was placed on a table in the hot sun. I came back down about 20/30 min later it was completely watered down. I tried drinking it but it tasted bad. I told the waitress to switch it out for another drink and instead she charged me for another drink. I asked for the manager and when she came she was very defensive from the beginning. First she accused us of enjoying half the drink before returning it. I said I tried drinking it and it was undrinkable, then she said we took HOURS before returning to the pool. I said no it was 20/30 min and she laughed sarcastically and said Ill credit it dont worry but it was a couple hours. I lost it at the point and said listen weve been here almost a week with multiple hotel rooms and have not complained ONCE and to give me a hard time for $15 is unacceptable. Its very disappointing the way an Opal Grand poolside manager would approach us this way. We had several hotel rooms and had breakfast, lunch and dinner pretty much everyday and spent thousands of dollars, to get questioned over a $15 drink almost ruined the whole trip.
