Avis Car Rental

HORRIBLE. Wasted my time and vacation. I made a reservation for a car. They cancel on me the day of pick up. They tell me to call corporate and theyll help me out. Corporate told me to book a car rental at the Dunedin location. So i did. I Uber over and they tell me theyre no cars either. Stranded. Had to take another Uber home. Out $50. Half the day wasted. And no car. No compensation. And have to explain to corporate why I deserve a refund. I DIDNT GET A FU@KING CAR.

DWAYNE at the downtown Clearwater location is an absolute terror and should be fired immediately. I rented from this location for work multiple times and one of the times I was waiting in the lobby a customer was verbally going back and forth with Dwayne. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. When this customer left I even cracked a joke with him to lighten the mood, he was not interested in friendly banter, which I'm fine with. However, about a month later, I booked a rental with the same location only because they showed availability online. Once I arrived, Dwayne was working behind the counter again and greeted me with the most carelessly rude "we don't have a car for you". Not even a hello. Just seems miserable at his job. He then says, "I tried calling you and you didn't answer so the people who answered their phone get priority." Wow... so I check my phone and notice he had called 15 minutes before my scheduled booking. While I was in an uber and missed his call. Spent money to get to this location only to be left stranded. He did not offer any help or options, even though I know as a former car rental employee that he could have easily ordered another car from the airport location (or any other available) and accommodated myself as a customer. Instead he gave me a glaring stare as if he knew I was going to be upset and waiting for my response. I said this is ridiculous and what kind of service is this for a repeat customer? He said quote, "not my problem, you booked last minute and didn't answer your phone." This is how you get treated at this location and I am not the only one, should have read reviews first. Enterprise is going to get ALL of my business from this point on. I'd rather rent a one wheel bicycle from a bum then ever step foot in here again. I hope Dwayne finds happiness and quits his job if he's so miserable and can't deal with customers.

My girlfriend reserved a sports car days before we went to pick it up. We had to take a 40 dollar uber ride to this avis. We arrive and just like all the other bad reviews the assistant manager which shouldn't be over anything with such poor management skills. He is very unprofessional, very rude, and careless. He tried pulling the bait and switch SCAM!!!! He said he didn't have this vehicle that was supposed to be ther due to the website saying it is. He said that he could give us a different vehicle but it would be much more. These people are scammers. This is there buisness model that they run. They are not even trying to run a legitimate buisness. Save yourself the hassle and frustration and do not use these people. They should be shut down. Very horrible experience!

This location is very convenient & efficient. Very good customer service - I love renting cars here! I highly recommend this Avis location.
