First and foremost this is not an employee issue. The U-Haul employees at this location are extremely professional and helpful. Literally they are the only redeeming quality. U-Hauls mobile pickup process is an absurd joke. Provide 3 contacts for references, work contact, passport, redundant picture taking. My bank doesnt even ask for that much information and a normal rental car company sure as hell doesnt. I will NEVER again rent a moving truck from U-Haul so long as these absurd corporate policies remain in effect.

The worst experience in my life they give me a truck with no oil cap drove it for an hour and a half then to call customer service. They get me a Uber to a U-Haul place to pick up another U-Haul an hour later then for that U-Haul place to tell me that I cannot take the truck because it was saying on the system that it was not ready to go even after the owner told me that it was earlier that morning Then for me having to call back customer service to let them know that the truck was not available I had to find my own Uber to the next location because they didnt want to get me another one for their mistake On the First truck Then to finally get a truck four hours later that was crashedon in every side The steering wheel was not straight Mind you I was driving nine hours away with this terrible truck they gave me to top it off the truck Only had 50 miles left in the gas tank so it was on E so When I returned it, it said That they were going to charge me $14 extra because the original Place I picked it up from said that it was on a quarter of a tank Customer service in Washington DC was one of the I mean, worst customer service Ive ever came across they even hung up on my face because I was venting to them about my experience Without cursing them out just one horrible Experience missing out on even my hotels that I had booked along Way never again Ill be using Penske from here on out

While the vehicle was clean and operated well, the furniture pads were another matter. Upon unpacking the pads, both myself and my wife developed a significant rash on our arms and chest. We immediately desisted use of the pads and simply moved them to the side with gloves on to avoid touching them more. When I went to return the vehicle the garage attendant asked if I could fold the furniture pads and I declined noting the rash that we received. He said "Oh yeah, I never touch those things because they give me a rash all the time". This poses a significant health hazard to more vulnerable populations and all furniture pads at this location are either compromised or else should be removed. I will not be going back.
