Avis Car Rental

Complete lack of customer service skills. They misrepresent and discredit the Avis brand. The counter was not staffed prior to departure, and the Avis phone representative was a waste of time and did not provide the promised requested arrangements and processed an overtly unauthorized charge.

Waited over 25 minutes at desk - no one in sight. Finally saw a hand-written note over to side of counter to call a number for assistance. Called, waited 5-10 minutes more. 2 men come in, one is on computer, talking on cell phone, & giving me one word instructions while speaking to other man in different language all at the same time. Finally get paperwork signed & am told to go out to parking lot (2 lots away from doors to outside) to search for a car by using panic button on remote. Find car - its not the model I was told to find nor was it the class I paid for. By then Im 45 minutes late on reservation so just took it. The car was not clean inside. Upon return 3 days later, I am instructed to back up while waiting to enter return lot, turn around & park car in cell lot. No other instructions so I walked inside with keys & dropped them in a box at again-empty counter. Surprise surprise. Do not rent from this company at Tweed-New Haven!

Bad experience all around. Customer service at the desk could not have cared less. Avis business process... is a business model to get reservations without having inventory to fulfill that reservation. If I had known there were no cars when making the reservation, I would have known to go to summertime else. Instead I'm stuck at Tweed New Haven trying to arrange something on my own because Avis the company is not capable of taking care of their customers. Again, bad business process all around.

If it was possible to give them no stars I would they were very rude from the beginning they have no customer service skills I informed them that they had an error on the documents they said I had a full tank when It was half the vehicle was Extremely dirty inside I it was never cleaned It also look like there was throw up on the ceiling and in the back of the vehicle behind the passenger seat it was not vacuumed or wiped down went back inside and inform them about the fuel tank issue as well as the Lack of cleanliness the guy behind the counter basically said take it or leave it I also informed them that the vehicle has tinted windows it had a check engine light on and the car was on safe and they did not care I had to exchange the vehicle for another vehicle at another Avis location but it took two more tries at a different location to trade in the vehicle when I was able to trade in the vehicle on my third try they informed me that this vehicle was already treated in on my account which was incorrect they only traded it when I mentioned that I was going to call the authorities for renting a unsafe vehicle once we informed them that we took pictures and videos and that we were going to call the authorities to make a proper police report for allowing someone to take a unsafe vehicle and making me travel to a different town to exchange the vehicle with no care whatsoever then they found a good clean working car for us this individuals have no customer service lack of respect and no care for peoples safety I would never ever rent from this company ever again it was my first time doing business with them and it will be my last
