I initially left a positive review of Billy but after learning that he screwed over my friend who I referred him to, changing this to a one star review.

I honestly don't even know where to begin but this has been a nightmare. Billy has completely ghosted us. He was referred to us by our realtor (they got the recc from another realtor) and I really wish we did additional research but we were caught up in a lot of home repair needs after we closed on our house. Billy was hired to install a new AC unit and furnace. He did a chunk of the work one day (he was at our house til 12 am figuring things out) and the agreement was he would come back to finish the job. We made a huge mistake and paid him in full. We are kicking ourselves for that decision but we trusted him. We discovered that he drilled 3 nails through our bedroom floor. I discovered them when I almost stepped on them. We immediately reached out and Billy said he would come remove the nails and replace the floor board (thank goodness we have extras the owners left us). We scheduled him to come back a week later (his earliest availability) to finish the AC/Furnace work and replace the floorboard. Billy just never showed up. We called so many times, we texted him. He just never showed. A day later, he sent us a vague text that he is 1,000's of miles away with a family emergency but he had already said that when he was late the first day of work, so although we want to give the benefit of the doubt, we don't know what is going on. I tried to reach out again the other day asking for him to just at least refund us the remaining labor cost, so we can bring someone in the finish the work, but he has not responded. I am trying to stay hopeful that he will do the right thing but it's not looking good. I hope no one else has to go through this nightmare.

Billy came recommended from friend so we reached out for a quote to install a new furnace and AC. Price was great but the saying is you get what you pay for. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY HVAC NEEDS! At first I thought install went great and everything was working fine. I was promised a free humidifier but told it was on back order several times. Don't think I will be seeing that. A few months later I go to change the filter out to find out there is no area to even put the filter. I reached out to Billy and said it would fit in this one area that has screws sticking out. Rather than pursue further with him, I decided to call a actual HVAC company to come out to see if they can install a filter drawer. The guy walks in and the first thing he says you should look into lawsuits etc since there is nothing that is up to code and it will not be safe over time. Secondly he said the furnace that was installed was not even the correct size for my size home. He recommends that we get a new unit to install since this one was so poorly installed. This can cost anywhere from 5K-7K more just to install a new unit. The HVAC company also mentioned since the install was so poorly done that there is a good chance carbon monoxide might be leaking out. With a new born baby, this is not something you want to hear. Please let this be a warning to never use this company for any HVAC needs as it looks like they take the short route with installing and safety. Use a quality HVAC company to do you work and it will be worth the extra money. Service: Installation

Rather than just tell why you shouldn't use Elite Home Services, I'm going to come through with proof. We initially hired Billy on Thumbtack (he markets his company as a HVAC company on there) to install a water heater and he did a good job so we hired him again to install our A/C. The day comes and Billy and Mike start doing the install. Towards the end of the day they disappear for about 4 hours after saying they needed more parts. When they get back it's after dark and they say that it'll be an extra $400 for parts (waiving labor). In hindsight, I should have asked them for a receipt as proof. They didn't seem knowledgeable enough to hide the lines and instead installed everything on the outside (see the pic). They bounce as soon as the install is complete and when I asked why I was barely feeling anything coming through the vents Mike said my furnace was old. I didn't believe that and it was my first indication something was wrong. Right after they left we noticed that one of them cracked a board in our attic and it broke through the drywall in our bathroom ceiling. It's clear they would have noticed it but they said nothing. So I texted Billy and sent him pictures. He didn't respond at first so I pushed him for an answer. He said he would take care of it and send a drywall guy. The drywall guy comes and I thought he was a professional. Turns out he's Billy's ex son-in-law and does flooring, not drywall. He did an awful job and it's already started cracking. A few days later we start to notice water dripping through the ceiling of our bathroom, right under where the A/C was installed. We went in the attic and found that all of the water from the A/C was flooding our attic and there was no way to stop the leak unless we shut it off. I immediately called Billy and told him he needed to come fix it ASAP. Instead of standing behind his work, Billy told us to go through his insurance because "that's why I have it". I asked him for his insurance company and at first he didn't give it up because he tried telling me I can't file a claim. I knew this was incorrect. I finally got it out of him and immediately filed a claim. Billy must have realized I was serious because he called back shortly after telling me they would come the next morning. By that time we realized he had botched more that we initially thought so we told him we didn't want him in out house again. During the claim process we learned several things from professionals who gave us quotes. First was the illegal electrical work. Billy and Mike ran the wrong electrical wire to our breaker box. They used a 50amp breaker, not a 30amp. This means the wire would have burned up because the breaker would have never tripped. The water combined with the electrical created a dangerous situation for anyone going into the attic so we had to turn it off until it got fixed. Then came the estimate from a reputable HVAC company. They had to do an actual re-install because Billy and Mike did almost nothing right. There was so much duct tape all over the place. Most of the cold air was flowing into the attic, which is why we couldn't feel anything coming out of the vents. The technician, who has been doing this for decades, said this was the worst job he's ever seen. Him and his assistant spent the first hour laughing because it was so bad. The claim also included remediation services to dry the water and a drywall specialist to repair our bathroom ceiling. The grand total for everything was just over $7,000 to repair what Elite Home Services did. Every person who came asked who we had hired because this person couldn't possibly be certified. I'm honestly doubting if Billy or Mike are HVAC certified because there is no way a professional would have made these mistakes. Instead of enjoying our A/C, we went through the hottest days of summer with nothing because this claim took weeks to resolve. I will never hire Elite Home Services again. I'm adding proof of our claim, details of the electrical and HVAC work, and pics of the work you get when you hire Elite Home Services.
