I Highly would recommend Mark, after my situation I contacted several attorneys and Mark was the only one to return my call he did that within hours of my call. He was in contestant communication with me, and keep me posted on my situation at all times. Mark was able to negotiate with the DA and have my charges reduced from a DUI to a DWAI with a differed judgement which was a miracle in itself. Thank You Mark! 7-30-2021

I've been waiting to share my experience of Mr. Rubinstein's representation until my case was completely resolved because I feared consequences of my negative review. Now that it has, I want to strongly advocate to AGAINST hiring Mr Rubinstein as your defense attorney in a criminal DUI case. Please see my experience below, outlining his incompetency, from (in my view) the most damning circumstances to the least: 1) Mr Rubinstein showed up 52 minutes late to my DUI hearing in Clear Creek County claiming traffic disruptions ( he lives in Carbondale). He asked me to arrive 1 hour before to review the circumstances of my case, which I did. I called Mr Rubinstein repeatedly in the hour before my hearing only to be ignored. I followed with an email and a text and the only response I got was "in traffic, will be late". The prosecuting attorney addressed judge after 15 minutes of his absence saying it was an insult to the court and the judge agreed. The judge asked those of us waiting in the courtroom if we were being represented by Mr Rubinsteins whereabouts. I was one of (2) defendants appearing being represented by Mr Rubinstein in court that day. The other defendant was clearly underage and his mother accompanied him in court. After this addressal and clear sign of irritation from the judge, I looked at the other defendants mother and asker if they were, too, represented by Mr Rubinstein and if they felt he was responsive to their previous requests for contact (see further in review). She scoffed and shook her head indicating that she did not recieved the adequate communication expected of Mr Rubinstein throughout her and her sons case. Mr Rubinstein showed up 52 minutes late to our designated sentencing hearing and had not discussed a plea deal with the prosecuting attourney. See below. 2) Mr Rubinstein did ZERO preliminary work prior to my sentencing hearing. I repeatedly asked him for discover information (which is generally not released until a week or so before sentencing date) and on 3 separate occasions he sent me the WRONG case information. He sent me the full case file for someone that shared a last name as mine but was not me (see below for client confidentiality concerns). Worse over, Mr Rubinstein waited until he showed up nearly an hour late to address the prosecution about the parts of my case that were already completed. I had completed my MADD panel, my DUI education classes, and had begun my DUI Treatment classes by the time my sentencing hearing had begun. This was at his recommendation and recommendations I had gathered from a simple Google search.. After I finally received the correct information on my case, which showed no criminal history, I sent all the information, completed forms, and government signed documentation to Mr Rubinstein for him to present to the court to search for a plea deal after I review PRIOR to the sentencing hearing and he did NOT do so. As I was addressing the judge, I could see him showing my printed out and completed forms to the prosecution, asking for a lighter sentence. In Mr Rubinsteins defense, the prosecuting attorney did agree to the plea that was most favorable to my situation. I only write this review to show the undue stress and lack of effort Mr Rubinstein showed to help myself, his client. 3) Mr Rubinstein on (3) separate occasions sent me a full case file that was not mine, but another defendant of his that shared the same last name as mine. This is number 3 on my list because, to be honest, it did not directly impact me. However, this is dirent breach of client confidentiality that could be reported to the BAR advisory board and result in a permanent removal of Mr Rubinsteins law license. I have no disclosed my experience to the board because in all honestly, Mr Rubinstein was really kind to me. He's just, in my case, been a really incompetent lawyer. SEE OTHER REVIEW FOR MORE INFO
