        The place to stay if you're coming to Durango for the train. Rooms: It's a historic hotel, so the rooms are smaller, but that's well made up by the sense of nostalgia Nearby activities: The train, of course.

        Our rooms did not have any windows, which would have made us think twice if it had been disclosed at booking. The beds are small and very uncomfortable. The place is clean and has nice decor, but I would not recommend staying here. Safety: I did not feel safe sleeping in a windowless room.

        Wonderful upgraded rooms in a classic old building. Coffee and cookies in the lobby, no coffee machines in the room. There is a funky elevator that is hard to open and close, so we used the stairs a lot. Our original room was an interior room, dimly lit and kinda dank, we upgraded to an exterior room (worth the upcharge). We'll have breakfast in the morning, website says continental, hoping for pancakes or fruit! A nice romantic place, everything works, nice firm mattress and pillows. Bathrobes are a nice addition, especially if you visit the hotsprings! Nearby activities: Durango/Silverton railroad! Sorry for the noise!

      I am so sorry to read your review. I cannot tell how you made your reservation but am grateful for the opportunity to explain. The 3rd party websites are difficult to convey exactly what you may be booking. An "Interior" room on Booking.com or on our www.generalpalmerhotel.com website are rooms that do not have a window to the outside. In addition, a "Palace" room is in an adjacent building. There is not way for us to discern these rooms on www.expedia.com. We always recommend guests call if they have questions. In addition, if , when you arrive, you are not happy with your accommodations, never never never hesitate to let us know. If you are not happy, we are not happy! Please come and see us again.

      Thank you for your review. We do list a continental breakfast but typical offerings are usually eggs, breakfast meat, waffles, egg casserole, etc. We hope you founds something you liked. We do offer a coffee station on each floor from 7-10am if that helps, on your next trip! Thank you for choosing us. We look forward to seeing you again.
