Do NOT get your taxes done at this Jackson Hewitt location in Broomfield if you have any sort of business or self-employment income.
The employee here wasn't aware that you can take business expenses (such as mileage, maintenance, meals, etc.) ON TOP of the standard deduction. (Especially in our case - married filing jointly.)
We just left an appointment because she claimed over and over that our business expenses weren't enough to itemize and wouldn't be more than the standard deduction and could not understand that Schedule C is in addition to the standard deduction.
They are SEPARATE and both can be claimed, according to the IRS and every tax professional ever, as well as Schedule C: Profit or Loss From Business.
Don't be lured in by the $179 deal. This woman may be costing you THOUSANDS in deductions if you have business expenses she isn't allowing you to claim! Beware!
