        During a difficult phase of managing my bipolar type 1 with mania and psychosis, Dr. Hartman decided to end my treatment with him, which was quite a blow during a vulnerable time. He seemed dismissive of my concerns, notably regarding medication side effects like significant weight gain, attributing it to diet despite evidence to the contrary. Additionally, he was unavailable in a crisis, leaving me without the support I expected. Particularly concerning was his skepticism about recovery from psychosis, contrasting with research indicating the brains resilience with appropriate treatment. This experience suggests Dr. Hartman may not be the best fit for those dealing with severe mental health issues like psychosis, where a hopeful and informed approach is crucial.
