Dont go here. They dont pay attention or take anything seriously. A grown woman was allowed to self harm in front of everybody multiple times a day and it was treated like it isnt a big deal, they didnt seem to care that it was triggering for others to see that and it wasnt redirected more than half of the time. Its a scam and they lie to you during assessments to get you to come. Go anywhere else

I decided I wanted to post a review because reading the reviews really helping me when I was making the decision on which treatment center to enter. For reference, I was RTC at Flora house. I had been in recovery for 2 years from my ED after a nasty 10 year off and on battle. But early 2023, I relapsed. I was actually going to admit into a different facility, but Im a celiac and they were not being accommodating. I also have ADHD and am on stimulant medication. I was diagnosed at 8 years old and being on stimulant medication has had a huge positive impact on my life. Non stimulants just simply dont work for me. The other facility I was looking at absolutely refused to allow me to continue that medication while in their care. Im not going to go into detail on why this other facility was against me being on stimulant ADHD medication. But if youre familiar with it, you know why. But I would like to notate that I had been on a stable dose for quite some time so I no longer had those side effects with the medication. Therefore, discontinuing those meds and then restarting them post treatment would have been more detrimental to me. Originally, I called Alsana about a month before entering treatment. Even before looking at the second facility. My first experience with someone from admissions was not helpful and extremely triggering. She essentially told me (without having all the documentation from my doctors) that their clinicians had decided I wasnt bad enough for RTC and were recommending me for PHP. That would NOT work for me because I had to move out of my apartment and go on disability in order to go into treatment. And I would not have been able to afford to rent housing. Not to mention that all my outpatient clinicians were actually recommending RTC. This unfortunately put me into a rapid downward spiral. However, after dealing with the other facility who refused to accommodate my ADHD and autoimmune disorder (celiac disease), I tried to call Alsana again. Im so thankful I did. This time I worked with Rene. She got me approved and ready to admit in less than 24 hours. I called on a Wednesday and admitted on that Friday morning. Obviously anytime you go to a treatment center, youll have some staff who are wonderful and some who you just dont vibe with. This was no different. However, for the most part, the staff here were all absolutely incredible. Morgan was my therapist and shes AMAZING. We did in depth trauma work that significantly improved my ability to cope. During my time here I was able to stay on my ADHD medication AND they completely accommodated my celiac disease. Josue, the chef is awesome! He had a whole snack cabinet just for me and he is very educated on celiac disease. He always marked all my food in the fridge so that it would be kept separate. He was always willing to find me new gluten free snacks and went above and beyond to do so. Sasha was my dietitian and she was wonderful as well. She was always honest with me and didnt sugarcoat anything. But she took the time to learn who I am and help me dismantle my eating disorder. Heather, the nurse manager is one of the sweetest human beings Ive ever met. I also want to give a special shoutout to Hannah, Adriana, Faith, Mandy, and Rylee. They all helped me through some ROUGH moments. My insurance kicked me out early against the advice of my treatment team. But they all helped me feel very prepared. Everyone took extra time and care sitting down with me and making a plan to make sure I felt prepared to discharge. I made the decision to forego PHP because I wanted to get back to my life and my job. But instead of trying to convince me to go to PHP, they just helped me prepare to discharge to my outpatient care team. They all communicated with my outpatient dietitian, therapist, and psychiatrist to help me have the smoothest transition possible. Ive been out for about a month now and I can say with gratitude and pride that I am still in recovery for my eating disorder. Recovery is possible. Thank you to everyone at Alsana!
