Ive been allergic to so many things my whole life: grass, trees, dust, animal dander, etc. And my family has been wanting a dog so badly. Ive even done years of allergy injections two separate times with no improvement. I finally started searching for alternatives and I found Duane on the NAET website. I have been seeing Duane 1-2x/week since March for my allergies and I can honestly say that Im seeing a significant decrease in my symptoms. Duane also makes excellent recommendations for supplements, smoothies, laundry detergents, good lifestyle habits, and everything in between and implementing those things have also helped with my allergies and boosted up my energy levels. I leave my appointments feeling relaxed and rejuvenated each time. Im happy to report that my family now owns a dog and I wouldnt have been able to do that without him. Im not completely done with all of my treatments just yet but Im excited to see how my life will continue to change. My allergies have improved so much and I am not allergic to my 11-month-old puppy at all! Duane has helped me tremendously by eliminating my allergies to a range of things - gluten, sugars, dust, pollen and more. He truly cares about all of his patients and takes a holistic approach. I highly recommend Duane to any suffering with allergies.

Duane (Byrd Acupuncture) has changed my life! When I went to see Duane (skeptical about this whole NAET thing) I had severe allergies to food. I could only eat 6 things, and had been that way for a couple years. My allergies started years ago and had been getting worse. Over the course of seeing Duane, he has cured my allergies so that I can now eat gluten (and other grains), dairy, garlic, vegetables, fruit, chocolate, coffee and over 40 things I couldn't eat before! I also got help for things like anxiety and fear, migraines and severe digestive problems as well as sensitivity to perfumes, and wind, smoke and altitude. I have a whole new life now! Now let me tell you about Duane, himself. He is professional, knowledgeable (he managed a store where he became an expert in herbs and naturopathic remedies), experienced (he has been practicing acupuncture for 17 years), and has a unique combination of skills to help you feel better, including massage. One such way is through NAET. It is a way of testing and treating ailments, including allergies (which turn out to be the cause of a lot of people's problems). He truly cares about each one of his clients. He really gets to know you and your concerns and I know he has spent time really researching and figuring out how to best treat me. I went to Duane to get treatment for multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS). Specifically, I wanted to give the Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Techniques (NAET) a try, and Duane is one of only several practitioners in the Bay Area doing NAET. Duane is a very caring, friendly, informative, and passionate acupuncturist and NAET practitioner. If you are suffering from allergy, I would definitely recommend that you give NAET a try, and Duane is an excellent practitioner. I am happy to report that NAET works for me. It's not as though I merrily go to bed hugging a bottle of perfume or douse my clothes with harmful chemicals like scented detergent and fabric softener and call that the smell of 'clean,' but those things don't bother me as much as they did before. When I inevitably come across such chemicals (since they are so ubiquitous there is no way to never come across them), my body and mind can deal with them in a more healthful way instead of going into shock and reactivity which result in what is called 'allergy.' For those not familiar with NAET, it is " a non-invasive, drug free, natural solution to alleviate allergies of all types and intensities using a blend of selective energy balancing, testing and treatment procedures from acupuncture/acupressure, allopathy, chiropractic, nutritional, and kinesiological disciplines of medicine" [from the NAET website]. In order for NAET to be most effective, you should be eating a healthy diet and following healthful practices, and of course, you should be able to avoid the allergen at least 25 hours after treatment.
