Providence Medical Group Santa Rosa Family Medicine - Bethards Drive

I decimated my wrist and headed on over here for treatment. I was triaged fast (due to my condition). I loved every single staff member I met, and boy were there a ton! I received top notch care; everyone was attentive to my needs, kind, and efficient not to mention funny. My surgeries went smoothly and my pre and post care was just fantastic. I wish I couldve stayed another night but Im glad to be on the road to recovery.

This review is my second, for the experience I'm having getting appointments for my mom who's now 87 almost 88 (I wrote a similar disappointing review a year ago. Now they get one less star because they are so hard to reach now. We would pick another office or DR. but our area, though one of the top vacation destinations in the world, does not attract good Dr.'s to live here, sadly. They all want to live in like PA and make megabucks an come here for vacation. Well we are stuck with a nurse practitioner who rarely calls back, including after my moms hospital visits. I just found out it's the LAW for them to see her within a week of hospitalization. They won't answer the fricken phone like we are going to the cheap crappy mediCal clinic. Don't ever try to call, even with very quick question 10 min before they close or 10 min before lunch, they really should change their hours because they do not answer. I've now been on hold for over 15 min and the music stopped and no one answered so I'm calling again and it now says I'm 3'd in the que an it's been an additional 10 min. Oh, and never attempt a same day apt. just head to urgent care. I've tested their same day apt that you must make at their opening time at 8:30 am. I've called on the button at 8:31 and it was filled! They only have two for the day, and there's no telling they have preferred clients they give appointments to; maybe relatives and friends? Who would know? who would provide quality control on that? Certainly not Providence. I have NO IDEA why Santa Rosa allowed Providence to come in here taking over St. Josephs that was so much better. I think they bought it. BUT IT IS TERRIBLE!!!!! I'll post this right when they answer so I can give the actual time I'm sitting on hold X2....26 minutes before I decided to call back an press the prompt for Dr. 's to call in. They answered immediately. Then they said they could not help me there but said someone was now available and they'd transfer me to the front desk. They disconnected me! Now I call back and again on hold! THIS IS REDICULOUS! I've sent in a complaint about them now to Providence itself. Now it says I'm 7th in the cue. @$$@^$#^$&%$&*%*^%

Sadly this place is going down mostly Id say because its a part of providence now. Here it is before the three day weekend. I called yesterday at 8:32 am for my 86 year old moms same day apt whos had a history of getting pneumonia in her lungs. They are already full. I call this am with my eye watching the phone to call at exactly 8:30. The gal, Sonia answers immediately at exactly 8:30.1seconds and says the same day are already full. How can that be when Im the first to call? I also called at 8:29.59 seconds and the machine says theyre closed. She says shes got two other people in the office helping her answer phones to get those only three same day appointments that they have already filed at 8:30.5seconds into our phone call. There is something I dont believe here. Why are they having three people answer the phones at exactly 8:30 am to fill all available same day appointments immediately? Also when our long time family doctor, Cynthia Morris retired, they replaced her with two nurse practitioners. The last few appointments we had there felt rushed. I used to love this place, and the only thing I see thay have going for them is a few long time good employees like the office gal Veronica, and that you can get to a human when you call, even if you have to make an appointment after youve gotten sufficiently sick enough maybe to be hospitalized. But you definitely feel the greedy money hungry care less for humans feel that the claws of Providence corporation have in this so called not so little any more family practice. Id leave for a better place in a heart beatum, if I could find one. It is extremely hard to find good doctors in the insurance world; theyre all moving toward the time managed dollar for minute model of Kaiser which I always hated. Kaiser is still worse because you can barely get to a human at all on a phone; you spend your dear time waiting and pressing buttons on the phone for minimum 30 minutes in my experience; had to have them a few times in my life with all our insane insurance qualifications rules in Calif/ USA that change each year if your family income changes or is not steady. Well in conclusion, Providence family practice is definitely going down the rabbit hole of non care; and I see they now have an overall rating of just three stars which means others are complaining too. Sadly all the good doctors seem not to take insurance and we cant afford them either, all signs of our beautiful country continuing to go down that same rabbit hole. I have two stars vs one because I still am not giving up hope, quite yet, for changes to the betterbut that hope is getting slippery and hard to hold on to This is about a week later and I had to increase to the stars because I really dont hold the employees and drs here responsible for my complaint.
