The only reason I am giving the place 1 star is because I cannot give them zero. To say this facility has gone DRASTICALLY downhill in the last few years in an understatement. My mom has been a long-term care resident there for several years. She is currently in the hospital waiting for SURGERY on her foot for an INFECTION they neglected for so long it has spread to the bone. TO THE BONE!!!! When they decided the wound on her foot was beyond their capacity to care for, they took her to the ER. The staff at Cottage Hospital specifically told them to stay until she was admitted. She is wheelchair bound due to her wound and HAS DEMENTIA. The facility staff member who transported her would have to answer medical questions before they could treat her. Well, they left her there, ABANDONED HER IN TH ER!!! They do not communicate with the primary contact regarding medical issues or changes with the excuse, We are just so busy This includes when my mom was transferred from their wound care (I clearly use that term loosely) center to the emergency room. The only reason my sister, who has medical POA and is supposed to be notified with any changes, found out was because a family member tried to call my mom and was told she was in the hospital. This is just the most recent issue, it is also the most severe and that is why she will not be spending another minute there. When my sister went to go see her in the hospital, she was also told she had a very large bruise on her back that looked as if it was from a bad fall. My sister had not been notified of that either. They allowed her roommate to steal my mothers clothes, take the phone out of her hand while talking to family and hang up, hide and/or eat the snacks family would bring her. She would hide her photo album, bible and anything my mom treasured. This has been going on for more than a year. We have requested a new roommate for her several times. They told us we tried by your mom will not agree to move rooms. My mom has dementia and does not want to leave her room because she is next to a sliding glass door and can open it for fresh air and she enjoys watching the birds. Besides, my mom is not the problem, she should not have to move. I live 1200 miles away and only get a chance to see her a couple of times a year. During one visit I went to help my mom get dressed and all the clothes I had bought her a few months back were gone. I asked the nurse, and she could not tell me where they were. I finally convinced them to let me go to the laundry room to look for them. It took me almost an hour. I found them hanging on racks for other residents and in piles on the floor. This is when I discovered, they do not dress their residents every day, only when someone comes to visit or they have to leave for an appointment. The rest of the time they are in the hospital gowns that open in the back. I implore anyone who is considering this place, to turn and run in the opposite direction. It should be shut down!

My uncle was at this facility and received the best care. Staff is so caring and respectful. The facility is very clean. The director of the building is top notch. I would highly recommend this facility.

The only reason i'm giving this a one star is because there's not an option 0. The first year my mother was in the facility it was great. Ever since then, it has gone downhill to the point where all my mother's clothes have gone missing. Her bible her photo book her stuffed animals all gone. We have voice our concerns that her roommate Who is verbally abusive to her. Trying to get a phone call into her is impossible. It is taking me multiple times and many hours per day To be able to get a phone call to my mom. My mother is now in the hospital due to an infection that has gotten so bad that it's in her bone and awaiting surgery. She will not be returning to this facility under any circumstan Loved when you plan on sending to this facility. Run in fear and find somewhere Else.
