***3-STAR REVIEW*** [See the footnote below for an explanation on how I arrived at the 3-STARS]During the past 18 years [Since 2005] I have attended many basketball games with my son here at Mater Dei High School [MDHS] in Santa Ana , CA. The new gym was completed in August, 2006 and then-coach Gary McKnight was so excited to see it completed. The new basketball gym is Huge, Amazing and Beautiful!However for the past year, I have refused to attend any basketball games here at MDHS, because they have hired Mr. Michael Brennan as President and I have ZERO respect for him and he must be terminated.   He was formerly principal of Servite High School in Anaheim and should NOT work in education.  Recently Mr. Brennan made an inexcusable and terrible decision to hire the corrupt former City of Brea Chief of Police, JACK "THE CONMAN" CON-KLIN as "EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF SCHOOL SAFETY."  As i wrote in my letter to Mr. Brennan to fire Mr. CON-klin, "Jack is the last person on earth you would want to be in charge of the student's 'SAFETY' as he has a long history [QUARTER CENTURY] of police corruption!"  I am baffled that Mr. Brennan would have even considered Mr. CON-klin for this position since he has personally known about Jack's past history of having ZERO ["0"]: ETHICS, INTEGRITY, CHARACTER NOR HONESTY; because he lied and wrote and signed a falsified police report that was submitted to the District Attorney.  Because Mr. Brennan has refused to terminate Mr. CON-kli he must be terminated as well!!I CANNOT in good conscience visit this campus any longer knowing that Mr. Brennan is President and has a long history of terrible leadership qualities, poor listener and shortsightedness!  Unfortunately, I will BOYCOTT MDHS until Mr. Frank Suryan Jr. President of the MDHS Foundation fires Mr. Brennan and Mr. CON-klin for "Dereliction of Duty."***PLEASE NOTE*** I gave 1-Star for administrator's Brennan and CON-klin and 5-Stars for the basketball gym which averages to a 3-Star [***] overall Review.

If i could recommend this school, i wouldn't. This school is very racist, i would only recommend sending your kids here if they are white, i asked 16 colored students if they felt discriminated and they all said yes "not only do they stereotype you, they look at you differently and the white kids don't include you in group projects" if you're any poc they degrade you and say you're from certain areas (ghetto areas) etc.. but my point is that I've witnessed the deans defend the white kids more so than any poc there. It's truly disgusting and the kids there are truly worse. homophobia is a big thing there and what happened to making the world a better place!!! Do better Mater Dei!!

ight so i attended this school i jus graduated and i'm ngl unless you're cj williams or any top football player you will get different treatment then the normal person, they lowkey bias to the normal students. i never seen any of em doin they homework but yet they got 4.0is all ight it's a good school, the teachers don't really give a fucc but ima keep it a bucc it's a chill school lowkey dark sometimes could use some renovations.  it's an alright environment got mad students which is chill but the dean and teachers ain't the best to talk to and the counselor ain't the best. if it's any bad reviews it's prolly the people who kaint afford tuition but overall it's a good school, i would prolly not send my kid here unless he plays football and gets free like i did. if u got money then send yo kid here all the rich kids be goin here ngl they be chillin kinda show offs but it's chill they got they own groups.

Bullying, lying staff, racist and much more.I know MD is getting sued for a hazing, sexual assault. I hope MD gets sued and more of their BS cover ups come to light. And what's up with the British accent person when you call MD?  Not a fan.

Please don't send your teenagers here, because Mater Dei coaches, teachers, and administrators are all hypocrites, who care nothing about their students' well-beings, but do their best by lying to protect the school's reputation!  I also agree with all posted negative reviews about this expensive and deteriorating Catholic private high school. In fact, many STEM teachers here are lazy and heartless who enjoy failing their students on the final exams which usually worth about 15% of their classes' final grades. In addition, the majority of Mater Dei administrators and staffs here are rude people and discriminatory bullies against their Asian parents and students, since Asians Americans students are in deed the minority students here! Furthermore, Mater Dei quality of education is going down the hill recently as result of its very high turnover rate of teachers yearly. Therefore, my children were transferred out of this school, and are getting much better education at no cost from a bigger public high school nearby, avoid MD!
