Remis Paul M MD

Dr Paul Remis has been helping our daughter & therefore my family for several yrs. He  is an EXCELLENT psychiatrist. Has all the best qualities you want from a psychiatrist. Listens, gives easy to understand feedback not clinical jargon. He is caring, compassionate, understanding & is in this work because he Cares about his can patients. Words can Not relate how much he has helped our family. Don't even want to imagine where we'd be without him. We have gone through Many strange, unhelpful psychiatrists & psychologists before finding Dr Remis. What a Blessing he has & continues to be.

Dr Remis is simply the best of the best. He saved my son's life many years ago and also helped our daughter on the straight and narrow.He took the time to understand our children and what make them tick. Our son has been drug free for 30 years and our daughter has been an educator for the past 20 years.Thank you Dr. Remis!!!!

I have had the fortunate experience to see Dr Remis for myself. I appreciate how rare that can be seeing that I'm older and my daughter sees him also. He has been the BEST Dr in his field I have ever found in over 20 yrs of research and searching. He is one of the only psychiatrists that uses both talk therapy and meds Only if needed. He has made a hugh impact in my life and I am very thankful in finding him and having access. He is very attentive, caring and funny. In my opinion he is the best psychiatrist I've found in ALL of Santa Barbara County. I drive an hour each way to see him and its WELL worth it!!!

Dr. Remis is outstanding and peoples impressions of seeking mental health would be greatly improved if more Psychiatrist had the care and concern that he has.He took the time to listen to me and my concerns prior to ever having me try any medications, and he made a point make sure I was properly educated on how medications work in general, and how the specific medications I would be prescribed would affect me. He has a very easy going demeanor, is up to date with technology and makes it as simple and easy to get a hold of him as possible.I had previously seen Michael S. McConnell at the CHC Behavioral Health Center over on Bishops and not only was everyone I encountered very rude and off putting (which is horrible for someone with anxiety), but he only asked me several questions before giving me a pill. I asked what sort of effects this pill would have on me and why he was prescribing me this specific pill, to which Dr. McConnell just handed me a book so I could answer all the questions it myself. Which is where I learned he was trying to give me a pill that had nothing to do with the issues I was having. This put me off for several years from seeing a Psychiatrist again. When I finally decided to seek help a again, I spoke to Dr. Remis about my previous interactions with Psychiatrist and made it very clear that I wanted proper help and not to have pills thrown at me. Not only did he fulfill that request but he has restored a little of my trust in the health care system. He listened to all of my concerns, and we made an action plan on how to combat my issues that included BOTH medications and therapy working together instead of just throwing medications at me and leaving me to fend for myself. He is focused on actually helping his patients and is not in this industry to just make money. This was very obvious when it came to payments and dealing with insurance. I have never had any help care provider ever help me with figuring out my insurance, let alone helping me figure out how many sessions I would be able to afford with the care I was receiving. He also discussed ways in which I would be able to still continue treatment even if my insurance wouldn't cover something. I now am on medications that I would not have considered to be helpful for me but because Dr. Remis listened to me and picked up on issues that I wasn't even aware I had. I am now not only able to handle life, but I am improving in ways I didn't even know I could.
