I recommend staying at the Luma Hotel without any hesitation. Luma is a beautiful new hotel, in a beautiful and pristine newly built neighborhood, walking distance to the ballpark and The Golden State Warriors, where it is super safe (important to me as a woman traveler), access to all public transit to get you literally everywhere including the airport (you will not ever need a car!), with fantastic desk service, and luxurious accommodations. Plus, when you walk in your bedroom, you are welcomed with a stuffed toy animal dog plopped on a pillow, a partnership they established with a not for profit that caters to child health and wellness. The beds are extremely comfortable and they have Four Seasons Hotel quality pillows. The rooms have electronic sheer blinds and blackout blinds if you'd like. But why use blackouts when you can admire the breathtaking night views of San Fran or the sunrise to cheer you up upon wakening. The shower in the main bath is immersive with two shower heads going at once for a steam room feel. The lotions, soaps and conditioners are imported from Italy, smell fresh and the water leaves no residue on your skin after bathing. Luma even provides a small brown towel for make up removal. What a nice touch! There is a hand held steamer for clothes plus a high end hair dryer with a diffuser, perfect for those wet and rainy hair days. If you choose a suite, there is a powder room and full bathroom, two flat screen TVs to watch sports or your favorite shows, a cushy carpet in the front room for your sockless feet, and plenty of room for a friend to sleep if you need to on the generous designer couch. There is a touch panel for do not disturb and for room clean up - no more plastic door tags that fall or can't attach properly to a knob! I love this hotel and when I return for another trip to San Fran, I will stay again. Only things missing are room service and a hotel restaurant. However, there is a cute AI robot on wheels that will deliver your morning tea with an r2d2 type beep. Nearby activities: Golden State Warriors! Safety: The location is pristine and I felt safe walking around as a woman with my child. The San Fran Police Headquarters is located in the neighborhood, as well as Uber, Chase and other major corporate brands. Food & drinks: Do not dare miss Gott's Roadside Burgers and Somi Somi for fresh soft serve ice cream and a homemade fish-shaped waffle. OMGGGDDDDDDD, soooooooo good, immaculate service. Luma Hotel does not have a restaurant or room service.

I came out here to take my boyfriend to the Warriors game and this was the perfect hotel with perfect location!! Very quick walk and very clean area. The views from our room were PHENOMENAL and thats thanks to Renzo for letting us know about their suites! He got us in the best room and made our check in experience so fun. Great customer service for sure! We finished our stay with ordering room service with their robot and it was such a cool experience. I would definitely come back and recommend it highly! luma is great! great service, rooms are quiet and clean, and location is just outside of the city and traffic. charles is super helpful, and the gym is great!

Okay so. This is not a five star hotel ala Four Seasons or The Ritz. Did we love it? No. But did it suffice? Yes. The location is good and its clean. The parking is comically $92 a night (park on the street overnight for free less than a block away). We tried to add on another night via phone before we arrived and got hung up on twice and waited indefinitely on hold the other three times. What? No idea why. The rooms. Okay. So the rooms are clean but are like sterile. The floor is that chilewich plastic weave and the headboard feels like vinyl. It definitely feels like they wanted the option to spray the room down for cleaning. It photographs well, but it has zero ambiance. The hotel overall reminds me of a trendy developer project- lots of things that make it seem fancy but cut rate materials and untrained staff folks who are friendly but dont really know what theyre doing. (They didnt remember we had the room for 5 nights under two reservations despite linking them and me talking to them the eve before, and then called me at 3:00pm asking why I didnt check out and why my luggage was still in the room. Like I was a squatter. LOL). Are there better options in the area? Not really. Upside? The area has good food and Gus market is across the street.
