This Hotel Exceeded our expectations in just about every way.
The price was right.
It was very clean.
Well located.
ONE COMPLAINT. There is a service charge on all food and drinks from the hotel restaurant/bar. We tried to get 3 soda and waters and one sprite one night. The bartender did not have the heart to charge us the $50.00. Just twenty.
Our breakfast of bacon, eggs, toast and coffee for 4 came to $156.00 with out tip. Crazy. Drop the service charge.
Walkability: Close to all shopping and transportation.

Rooms: Clean, smell nice and with street view. Desk is very big, good for people who do business travel. 50-55 TV ( I guess) big enough for the room. Washroom is well design and luxurious looking.
Walkability: Walking from Powell station is very convenient, it takes approximately 10 mins with uphill but unlucky there are lots of shops and department store can distract you and makes you feel only 5 mins.

From the minute my Uber dropped me off at the curb I was greeted by a bellman who took my luggage up the grand entrance to the lobby. I arrived much earlier than the check in time (I got in at 10am but check in wasn't until 4pm). I was greeted by a very kind gentleman at the front desk who promptly checked me in to a room with a corner view of Powell Street. I could see the trolley cars go up and down Powell throughout the day from my room. The room was somewhat small but cozy for 1-2 ppl. I was traveling alone so it didn't bother me. My room was services daily. My one gripe was house keeping kept turning off my AC when they would service the room. And I would come back from my adventures to a very warm room. The bed was very comfortable and surprisingly, so were the pillows. The shower was somewhat odd as it only had half a pane of glass, with half of the shower open to the elements. I found it difficult to keep the water from splashing onto the floor. The staff offered 2 complimentary full size waters everyday and provided extras if needed. I very much enjoyed the high tea service they offer in their restaurant/bar area. The owner hooked me up and gave me two different pots of tea to try and two different champagnes. I would absolutely stay here again when I visit San Fran! Highly recommend!
Rooms: The rooms are somewhat small but doable for 1-2 ppl. I stayed in the Queen Size Room.
Safety: Traveling solo, safety was a big concern of mine. I always felt welcomed by the staff, they would ask me how my day was and I never felt uncomfortable leaving at night or coming back late.
Walkability: This hotel is very centrally located in Union Square and the trolley line is right outside the front door. You can easily walk to Columbus Square, Little Italy, Chinatown and Fisherman's Wharf isn't too far away. I was able to get to everywhere I wanted to visit during my stay by just using public transportation (when needed) and walking most of the time.
