Ive been a resident and content creator in Second Life since 2009. Im surprised by the level of discontent among some users here. Most residents log in to meet people and hang out. While its true that customer service used to lack luster, its been pretty good this past year. After the CEO, Ebbie, passed away, I was worried wed lose sight of what a virtual reality is and is not. I do believe the new company is too invasive where prior your life in Second Life was private. Land is still too expensive, and I have the Prem ++ account. After all these years, and with new servers at AWS, they should loosen up prim usage. Also, they should work harder in restoring mainland, which is radically unjust with roads and water being the only areas worth living. They could easily add roads to loosen up the bots who run the land sales. Otherwise, I do love Second Life and will continue to use and create until it closes down!

No company is perfect, especially with a product still maintained that is older than Facebook and as old as first smartphones, but they do what they can, within their available resources. Kudos for that. Still, the building here... looks a bit dated. SL / Sansar / LL logo is far too small to be noticeable when you pass nearby, even by foot.

Second Life is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. For my part, I've been hanging around there for 16 years and I never get tired of it. Of course, everything is not perfect, far from it, but at a time when all the big social networks only dream of metaverses, SL is one of the pioneers and is still there.

It's sad what Linden Labs has become. They will steal the products you make, steal your money, and any appeal you make will simply fall upon deaf and unempathetic ears. They are actively sabotaging their own company by getting-rid of the people who made the community. That's right--every mistake LL made which made their games worse, it was the COMMUNITY that fixed it to the best of our ability...and now we're just tossed to the curb like disposable trash. Avoid this company and it's products like the plague as they ruin everything they touch and will eventually go bankrupt when enough people in the remaining community get so fed-up with LL's behaviour and actions that they no longer give this company second chances...Linden Labs doesn't give anyone second chances anyway.
