Bank of the West

Online experience and back-end tech are a nightmare. Security is was too tight and locks me out of my own account all the time, and customer service is abhorent. When I share my feed-back it never goes anywhere. currently in Mexico and their 800 #'s will not accept "international" calls. Been trying to stick with them because of their "green" investing, but it is just not worth it anymore. Can't wait to be done with this company.

Do not use this bank. Their security is terrible. I have had so many false charges on my account because their security is so bad. Each time, I have had to cancel my ATM debit/credit card, order a new one which takes 14 days.

Financed an RV with them, they neglected to send paper work for me to be able to make first payment. So I was late on payment by the time it arrived. They made me pay a late fee because of their negligence. Fast forward to 3 years later while paying off my RV, they added interest to every extra payment I made to principal. This included the last payment. Do not do business with bank of the west it will be a headache from the start!

Bank of the West system's are archaic and their customer service team is not empowered. Reports are exclusively provided in pdf form making it difficult to review (or analyze) either transactions or costs and they refuse to provide customer data in formats that can readily be transferred to a competing service provider. There is not much to add. This is not a customer-centric organization. User beware.

After spending a good 2 hours opening an Any Deposit business checking account online and getting it connected to Quicken and other business accounts, I was locked out and the Bank informed me that they had closed my account. When I called customer service, they were both unhelpful and rude. No apologies - they simply said they had the right to close my account, even though nobody called and gave me a chance to answer questions, provide documentation, etc - the worst customer service I've ever experienced from any bank.
