        Its kind of ridiculous that my usual 2 hour drop off is now 5 hours and still going. I had to call for updates because it was taking so long. When I called I couldnt get a time estimate on how long it was going to take. This is a comprehensive exam on a healthy 6 year old small dog. Prior to COVID they were doing these exams in person and they took no more than an hour. During and post COVID they were drop off only and like I said they were usually 2-3 hours. Why was my appointment 5+ hours today? I dont know because Banfield did not explain the why to me. All they said was it was going to take a little bit longer and my dog was doing fine. Im okay if my appointment takes all day but they need to set expectations. Im used to a 2-3 hour wait so I will drop off my dog and run errands because it doesnt make sense for me to drive 20 minutes home and 20 minutes back to pick him up. However for my appointment today, it wouldve totally made sense for me to just go home if I wouldve known it was going to take over 5 hours. There was no explanation that they were short staffed so it was going to take longer so I have no clue why it was taking longer if the update I get when I call is your dog is doing great. Just a huge waste of time and disappointment in the company that Ive been using for 6 years. Its gone downhill.

        Only been 1 year, but each visit the staff has been friendly and knowledgeable with me and my dog. I usually leave my dog in the car for initial check-in because the reception area is fairly small and high traffic for reactive dogs. Every time I have scheduled appointments around lunchtime (12-2 ish), they have called to reschedule me earlier or later same day.

        It was a busy morning but the receptionist greeted me when I walked in with my dog. There were a couple of other appointments waiting but it was a comfortable, peaceful drop off experience at this busy hospital. We have been happy being clients here.

        I have a happy , healthy dog because of Banfield. She has been on their Wellness Plan since she was 8 weeks old. Matilda is 13 now.
