Its been about a month since we moved into Legacy Apartments, and while we had a few challenges, there were some shining moments of exceptional service and truly have made it a positive experience . We recently moved into our newly renovated unit and there were a few problems we had. The cabinetry installation, done by a contracted company and not Legacy themselves, seemed like someones first time assembling IKEA furniture without the instructions cabinets we couldn't open, countertops askew, misaligned hinges, missing cabinet bumpers, and cracked caulking were just some of the issues. On top of the cabinetry issues, our move-in experience was further marred by significant issues with our keys. The front door keys didnt work, resulting in frustrating moments of being locked out of our apartment and not being able to lock our windows. Even more inconvenient was the fact that the keys for the balcony doors were not rekeyed to match the front door, adding to our daily struggles when either were locked from the other side. As well as initial confusion over being told the wrong mailbox number added to the chaos of settling in but was quickly handled by Raja at the leasing office. Additionally, we experienced a missing package, which had a delivery confirmation picture at our door, yet went missing and ended up on our doorstep about a week and a half later, opened. But perhaps the most concerning issue was the state of the drive-in gate. It was broken since we moved in, leaving the property vulnerable and accessible to anyone. Although it was eventually fixed, the drive-in gate fobs were not properly programmed. We often found ourselves waiting for someone else to enter or exit the property before we could gain access, or resorting to parking outside altogether. The security implications of this situation were not lost on us, especially when one of our cars alerted us to a potential break-in attempt. These issues not only disrupted our daily routines but also raised safety concerns. If I had one complaint about our apartment though, is how close we are to the freeway and our windows not having any weatherstripping to block out pollution or noise. We were told to put up blackout curtains. But amidst these challenges, the shining stars were the Legacy team, particularly Matthew from maintenance. The leasing office staff, including Raja, Shiek, and Izzy, are also supportive and welcoming. Before even settling into our new home, I reached out to the leasing office to inquire about any incoming packages. Shiek from the leasing team, walked over to my apartment and picking it up for me. This thoughtful gesture set a positive tone for our experience at Legacy Apartments. When I went to discuss the issues we were encountering with our keys and cabinets Matt and Dante from the maintenance team happened to be at the leasing office. Without hesitation, the leasing office promptly addressed our front door key problem and looked up the correct mailbox. Upon returning to our unit after that, Matthew was already at our front door, ready to fix our cabinets. His prompt response exemplified the exceptional service we've come to expect from the Legacy team. We submitted several work orders for our unit that was move in ready, and Matthew not only address each issue promptly, but he also took the initiative to fix our kitchen caulking on the spot while he was there to rekey our balcony doors, without the need for a formal work order. Additionally, when the maintenance office didnt have any cabinet bumpers, Matthew went above and beyond by taking time out of his lunch break to personally go out and buy them for us. His exceptional service and willingness to go above and beyond have made a significant difference in our experience at Legacy Apartments and we couldnt have been more appreciative that hes part of the maintenance team here! While our first month had its challenges, the exceptional service provided by the Legacy team definitely made us feel welcomed and valued. Love to the Legacy team!

I am a long time tenant that loved living here and now cannot recommend this place to anyone. You pay a "Gated Community" price while the gate is broken for months at a time. When they do fix it, its only fixed for a week or so and then it breaks again. There are homeless people living in the electrical rooms because none of the doors are locked, and they are running hoses out of the water faucets using who knows how much water. Legacy claims they have staff patrolling around keeping an eye on things, but I have seen these homeless people multiple times in a day throughout the day unapproached by anyone. Ever since Greystar took over this complex the cleaning has gone down the drain. The stairs and pavement were power washed frequently, you would never find stains, spills, or trash lying around because they cleaned all the time. Now you get a maintenance worker once a week to dust your stairs. It all ends up on the floor and doesn't get cleaned up. There are vomit stains, spills, and food stains everywhere. While I know the mess isn't something to blame on Legacy Apartments, I would just wish that it was cleaned on a schedule, frequently. If you call the leasing office to complain about the homeless people they tell you to call the non-emergency number and they will "dispatch" someone soon. The same homeless people have been in this complex for 4 months and counting. There are fewer and fewer non-military tenants living here and the reason is clear. The complex is the dirtiest its been and we still get more fees added on for "cleaning" and trash "maintenance". One of the few redeeming things about this complex is the care the maintenance workers put into helping you. They are efficient, respectful, and careful. I am grateful that if something breaks or goes wrong they will be prompt to fix it. This is NOT enough reason to give more than a 1 star review.

Its about time I finally leave a review! Active Duty military family here and let me just say this place is worth every penny. 10 minutes from MCAS walking distance from Miramar College Hourglass Community Park and great shopping. I have lived here multiple times since 2018 between deployments, PCS moves and as I exit the military I plan to stay. Why? Because for what you are getting they are so decently priced compared to the surrounding area! They recently renovated a lot of the apartments and they are beautiful with quartz countertops throughout the apartment and huge sinks(similar to what I had in Japan and LOVED) stainless steel appliances new modern cabinets ugh just beautiful home! The community rooms are great with pool table, full kitchen, conference room, office room, gym, pool, and yall the staff want you in there they want to see you enjoying your time at legacy! They are all so sweet but Raja and Izzy are my favs they are so relatable and I love chit chatting with them when going to pick up my mail in the secured parcel pending locker for my packages! To wrap this review up I just want to leave you with this if you want a beautiful home with a wonderful leasing and maintenance staff this is your next home!

Hello Haris! Legacy would like to first thank you for your longstanding commitment to Legacy Apartment Homes. The team truly values our longstanding residents. The service team is ecstatic to hear that you have found their services to be efficient, respectful, and careful. There is a new Service Supervisor who started in February, and his goal is to get the service team, cleaning team, and property operating at its absolute best. With that being said, the service department is currently working through some new procedures and are doing their best to address all community items. The gates have been a challenge but with our new Service Supervisor’s guidance, have found more efficient outside assistance to repair them. You will undoubtedly see improvement moving forward. The same can be said about the grounds cleaning. The cleaners have a set schedule for each building on a weekly rotation, so all buildings will be sure to get the cleaning and attention they deserve. The gates being down are unfortunate but we also urge all residents to keep an eye on anyone entering the community through any gates left open. Unfortunately, there has been an increase in the homeless population across the entire county, and the team truly does their best to assist residents with addressing trespassers. Encouraging residents to call non-emergency is not meant to push this responsibility entirely to residents, but is meant to save time as the office team will call the non-emergency SDPD if needed. Their wait times can be long though, and many times the team will not approach trespassers ourselves as we are also not armed patrol. The entire community, office team and residents, have an opportunity to work together to ensure Legacy continues to be a place that residents can call home.As always feel free to reach out to the team via phone or email and we will gladly assist as best and efficient as we can.Respectfully,Nick Novelozo | Community Manager
