Very nice complex with nice amenities. Friendly staff and maintenance is very responsive. All request are done on the website and for us it was taken care of right away. A different food truck comes every Wednesday. Also a great location for UCSD students with public transportation very close.

Save yourself the trouble and listen to the negative reviews. Lived here for a year and honestly one of the most frustrating apartment living experiences I've ever had. A majority of the first and second floor apartments have mold issues (when you walk through the outdoor hallways, you can see the blinds molding in people's apartments due to the building set up that severely decreases air flow and sunlight), we had multiple packages stolen, laundry facilities were routinely broken or flooded, pool/hot tub chlorine content is not overseen correctly and it will bleach swimsuits, etc. The staff is unhelpful and seems genuinely uninterested in assisting residents. Initially, I was pulled in by how nice the units look, but don't let it fool you. I wish I listened to the negative reviews before moving in.

I strongly advise against considering this location. If possible, I would rate it with a negative 5-star review on Google without hesitation. To provide some background, there has been recent management turnover at this complex, and trust me, the new management is the last thing you wish to deal with in your entire life. Be prepared for ongoing frustrations and inconveniences when you decide to lease here. The new lease agreement raises serious concerns, as it includes numerous amendments that transfer responsibilities and expenses onto you. You will find yourself burdened with additional costs and tasks related to apartment issues, parking challenges, security matters, and the potential for property losses. If you do have a contract lawyer, I recommend you to get the lease to him and ask about his idea; be prepared to hear "why do you want to accept this contract?" In the past, this place used to be one of the most affordable options in proximity to UCSD. Formerly known as La Jolla International Garden, its primary advantage over Canyon Park was the availability of garages beneath the buildings. However, even that aspect has become problematic. I won't delve into all the broken amenities, but it remains a consistent source of frustration. Particularly, the laundry facilities are unreliable, with machines frequently out of order, and management showing minimal interest in resolving the issues. Many people started to get their laundries done somewhere else, i.e. UCSD graduate housing, to minimized dealing with broken dryers in the Laundry room. The apartments themselves are extremely dated (I think built in the 1970s), requiring at least an annual roach spray to keep their numbers in check. The kitchen lacks proper ventilation, leading to fire alarms being triggered whenever you attempt to cook. The bathroom fans are purely cosmetic and not connected to ventilation systems. The security cameras in the parking areas are non-functional, and the discontinuation of night patrols by the new management has led to encounters with suspicious individuals and a lot of burglars. Be prepared for the possibility of losing your valuable belongings if you choose to remain here. Considering the additional expenses and security concerns, you may discover that leasing a more comfortable and secure place elsewhere is a financially prudent decision, with an additional cost ranging from $200 to $300.
