I took my toddler here for a URI and what we though was a fungal diaper rash. They said "Ok the NP will we see you, wait in room 1." The NP came and addressed the cough/URI and prescribed antibiotics and then when I tried to get him to assess the rash he informed me that it's the company's policy to only treat one illness per visit. He wouldn't even look at the rash. They told us we would need to come in the next day if we wanted them to even look at the rash. I am a full time medical biller. I know the reason they only treat one illness per visit. It's so they can bill the insurance company for an entire visit for each symptom/illness. That is highly unethical and they are taking advantage of the patient and the insurance companies to milk as much money as they can out of people who need care. This is also likely insurance fraud. I asked them to note in my son's chart that they refused to treat both illnesses but the NP refused to do so and they would not give me a copy of the clinical note (which is a patient's right to have by law). The second illness that they refused to treat ended up being Hand-Foot-Mouth, but because we though it was a fungal rash we sent him to daycare the next day after a teledoc did the best they could over a video call (it's hard to definitively identify a rash through a cell phone video). So any infections in his classmates are because this urgent care is not operating to help people. They are only there to do a job and collect their money. No one there gave two you-know-whats about my toddler. Are they going to care about you or yours?
