image Stay away! Misleading information, and coverage denial. Our 16 year old tile roof is (and has been) leaking since Christmas. I had a bad experience with a flood 2 years ago when we moved from Silicon Valley to Paso Robles, and specifically asked about roof/water damage, and was assured wed be covered for roof problems because wed had a proper inspection (and the agent came and looked at our house too). The first adjuster, James, came after Christmas and told us the damage was below our 1K deductible. Now, with the continuing rain, the damage has accrued to an estimated 30K+worth of damage to our roof, under-roof and interior, weve been told that it was OUR responsibility to properly inspect the roof. Had 2 Certified Home Inspectors say the roof was fine prior to purchasing, and was explicitly told water damage would be covered, depending on the type/location. So, now weve got leaks all over, and have had 3 roofers and 2 contractors come to look, and the costs (exterior and damage to 4 rooms inside) and the 1st bid was $30K. The adjuster and agent told me that we had not properly maintained our roof (I am in my 60s and have been 100% disabled for 29 years) I use assistive devices at times to walk. My husband is 74. Even IF we had gone up on the roof (ourselves) how would we have known what we were looking at? Thats why you rely on your agent, and inspections, to get proper coverage. This was escalated to a Regional Adjuster in Fresno, and he told me that this was clearly a lack of proper homeowner maintenance. The good news? The guy said THEY would have covered half of the damage from our FIRST flood, that our previous insurance company did NOT cover. Wow! Underwhelmed! And... somebody keeps taking my review down! Wonder if its Farmers??? FYI, the stains shown are each 3 feet or larger in scope, and the plaster on our ceilings and walls is crumbling and water soaked. Thanks for nuthin!

image I would give Farmer's and Nicole a zero  or minus-5 if possible.  My 74 year old husband and I moved here 23 months ago.  During our move (insured with State Farm) we had one of our storage areas flood, with 93K worth of damage, and our agent in Silicon Valley denied the claim even though I had called THREE times to make sure I didn't need to purchase the "optional" insurance offered by the storage place.  So, we were screwed on that.  I called around, and found Nicole Kellerer.  Her agency is NOT in compliance with the American's with Disability Act, as there is a steep staircase up to her 2nd floor office, and no elevator.  My R leg is partially paralyzed form an accident 29 years ago, and it's very hard for me to climb stairs as a result.  I told Nicole our tale of woe with State Farm's denying coverage, and she absolutely assured me that we WOULD be covered for "anything like that" with HER insurance company.  We had a certified home inspection, and also got a 2nd insurance (home warranty) policy that ALSO included our roof.  We were told by the inspectors that we had 16 years of a 50 year tile roof.  Two weeks ago at Christmas, we started having roof leaks.  I called Nicole, and she sent an adjuster, who inspected our place, and told us the damage was "below our 1K deductible" and would not be covered therefore.  In the ensuing 2 weeks we've gotten about 9" of rain, and our (34 years left on our tile roof) leaked MASSIVELY - in several places.  I involved our realtor, and had an independent roofer come and look, and the roofer said our entire roof needed to be replaced (23.5K or so) and that the eaves around our house also needed to be replaced.  Inside, he told us several windows are now compromised (leaks in the walls, and around the windows) and sheetrocking, windows, insulation, electrical wiring, and repainting would need to be done (another @7K, if fixed IMMEDIATELY) as we're supposed to have several more inches coming).  The adjuster, James, just called and said "the roof is YOUR responsibility, this is "routine" maintenance, and therefore we should have known.  He said that if we'd taken the tiles up, we would have known about the problem, and been able to do proper maintenance.  I am 100% disabled, and have spent the last 29 years laying in a hospital bed.  I use assistive devices for mobility (canes, walker, electric wheelchair) so there's NO way I could have done that, and neither could my husband at age 74.  Okay, he maybe could have climbed a ladder, but how would EITHER of us know WTF we were looking at if we HAD taken up tiles?  Hmm?  So, the upshot is that Nicole said "oh my, too bad" - In other words, we're totally screwed on this deal, and NO coverage through her and Farmers.  I asked the adjuster just now, James, what the purpose of a home inspection and insurance was, if they could not be relied upon, and how were we supposed to know that they were ALL misinforming us, including our agent??? He had no answer for that.  I am epically pissed, and am looking (NOW) for a new insurer, and a different agent (who obeys the laws for disabled folks) that keep their promises.  After my TWO experiences, with (right now) a grand total of $133,000 of uncovered damages to our property, furnishings, and dwelling, I doubt I'll have much success in finding a REPUTABLE insurer.  DO NOT EXPECT FARMERS to provide the coverage you PAID for!  This agent is a bald faced liar!  I am contacting an attorney, the BBB, and the state insurance agency, as well as contacting the District Attorney.  My cousin, who is a judge (on the state bench for life) told me that this is NOT right, and that's what insurance is for.  She's going to review my policy (IF I ever get it from Nicole, which I feel is rather doubtful).  Hooray - the box we had our printout of our policy in is WATER DAMAGED and the policies are unreadable!  Perfect!  Run away and save your money - you'll need it with Farmer's because they will not uphold their promises to you.  At least, not this agent or her co
