Eileen Watrous, M.D.

I have never had as bad an experience as I have had here. Doctor Eileen Watrous is a poison to society, and absolute curmudgeon. Not only did she make it almost impossible to get my albuterol inhalers that I've had for the last 20 years, making me pay for many extra tests and go through many extra hoops, but eventually when I couldn't take her anymore and requested to change doctors to another in the same medical group she went out of her way to write a note about me to the other doctor about me to recommend to refuse me my medication and telling of her unpleasant experience with me. It doesn't end there, few months later (tonight) when cvs mistakingly reached out to Watrous to refill my prescription she called me at almost 9pm and started the conversation by telling me how happy she was that I changed doctors and that we were never going to get along. She then told me she wrote a note to the other doctor previously but would follow up with another note once again talking negatively about me and recommending to refuse me my medication. The fact there are people allowed to be doctors like this is unreal

Everyone in the office is very friendly and polite, and the first time I came here I had no wait. Dr. Watrous was courteous and she addressed my concerns. (Some issues were resolved, some weren't). Later I scheduled a phone visit in order to get a referral to a chiropractor. After our phone call, she said I would need to come in in order for her to give me a referral. So I did. This was my second time in the office, and I had to wait almost an hour for her to see me. I explained again that I would like a referral for a chiropractor. First she examined me, which I didn't think was necessary. Then she told me she wouldn't give me a referral for a chiropractor, that she could either give me a referral for prescription ibuprofen (why do I want to take a pill everyday if I don't have to?) or she could give me a referral for a physical therapist. It was not only extremely frustrating that I had to have two appointments for this (phone and in-person), and I had to pay my co-pay for both, but at the end of the day she wouldn't give me the referral I was wanting. I tried pushing the issue, but she said chiropractor care doesn't work. I've gone to a chiropractor for years and have found relief, I only needed a referral now because I moved and my insurance group had changed. After arguing with her for about 10 minutes, she said that if I went to the physical therapist and still wanted the chiropractor after my allotted visits, she would then write the referral. Dr. Watrous is older, and I think her years of experience do offer some benefit, but sadly she is stuck in an older way of thinking.

I've been going to Dr. Watrous and Lakeside for years. She has always been kind, attentive, and detail oriented. Anything I needed, she addressed, or made a referral. I highly recommend Dr. Watrous and Lakeside. Their staff are always professional, cheerful, and helpful. Thank you.

All I needed was a prescription refill that did not require an office visit. Dr Waltrous was my PCP. She flatly refused to accommodate me. I spoke with her over the phone twice, she insisted that I come in to the office. She is beyond common sense. I dropped her like a hot potato. Waste of time. I do not recommend her to anyone.

She is one of the worst primary care doctors Ive ever been to. Refused to give me a referral that even the insurance company agreed I needed, she wrote up a different authorization request so poorly that it got denied (didnt listen to what I said), and my Pap smear was inconclusive because she didnt get enough specimens! She made my blood pressure go way up too. Just awful.
