I was referred to James by a friend of mine. We needed a consultant to advise us on a sale of our properties. Besides giving us tax advise, James points out some of the strategies that we can improve our business. Being a small business owner, I get intimidated by all the rules and regulations talk by my prior CPA. James put them in simple terms and made them easy for me to digest.
He is on a pricy side. However, if you need good advices that go a long way, I'd recommend using his services.

This person is a complete THIEF!!! It is interesting that on his website he has an article on how to identify one. I guess it takes one to know one.  I am writing this review hopefully to prevent others from being taken advantage of by this man. Mr. Valle presented himself as almost too nice and stated he provided "value-added" services in addition to doing taxes because "doing your taxes is just doing your taxes" but he never did my taxes, he created major stress for me, and in the end I had to pay him $1004.55 for nothing plus late tax penalties!  When I first came to him he said he would charge me less or equal to what I had paid before for tax preparation but when April came around and nobody was contacting me I began worrying.  I was used to setting appointments and getting things done in time.  I sent him an email in May telling him that I felt like I had no accountant and that I was going to consider going elsewhere.  He apologized and asked me to come in and only told me that I should let him do my business taxes because he had already done "so much work" but he never told me what he did or showed me anything. In July again I asked what the status was and he said he was still waiting for me to respond to questions that my bookkeeper had responded to months ago.  At this point in time I soon realized that since I would not be a longer term client he was trying to nickel and dime me for everything and trying to charge me for unnecessary time and that this was going nowhere.  He said every time he had to get on the phone with me it was really expensive b/c it was "his" time. Well I am sorry but if you're not doing your job I am going to call the owner or at least the person I have been communicating with. And I never met this mystery person Kim (Gnoc) that was supposedly "working" on my taxes. I told him that these were taxes and that he was not a lawyer. He said that my bill was up to past $1700.00 and that now he needed to contact my last accountant for questions on the depreciation of my leased car????  I could only imagine how much longer and how much more money he would try to get out of this. I decided to discontinue with him and hire a new CPA. I was also recently told by 2 other CPAs that he should have advised me about paying April 2018 estimated taxes. I now have to pay a penalty for. I did ask for the money back and he declined.  Please save yourself from this dishonest, wolf in disguise, doing taxes is stressful enough.8/21/18 Nice, you made it so that I cannot respond to your inaccurate statements. I have been contacted by a few other people that you have also taken advantage of. Good luck to you.

I was referred to Jim by my business school network (UCLA) - I had a list of 30 CPAs to contact but the referral for Jim was so passionate and so positive that I decided to hire him for my personal and business taxes. I'm now the one giving him the raving referrals! He is one of the most thorough and patient people I've ever met in my life. I find myself turning to him for advice well beyond what I ever would have expected - decisions that are crucial to my business' success (like whether we should switch from an LLC to a Corp) and to my personal happiness (like questions about my first mortgage). I trust his expertise and judgment through and through. I never would have thought that one of my most trusted business advisors would have been my CPA but Jim is indeed all that and more.

I am a young, independent contractor attorney. I was looking for a good CPA who could assist me with apportioning and paying my taxes as a 1099 IC. I had a few meetings with other CPAs and was not happy with the minimal information and lack of professionalism. Then I met James and Shirley! Not only did Jim agree to meet me on a weekend, but his care, professionalism, and confidence in his practice made me sign right away. I look forward to a long and fruitful business relationship.
