The Tuestas do provide excellent dental care, that's why we were so disappointed by the environment and their refusal to open the windows during our cleanings.Their offices are not fully separated so sitting down between 2 other patients who were about 12 feet away on each side was unsettling especially with all of the windows being closed. I told the hygienist I was not comfortable and we (my wife had an appt the next day) would need to reschedule.I sat down with admin and we can up with a plan that my wife and I could come back together, first appointments at 8am, use office #1 and #2 simultaneously while office 3 would be empty and the windows would be open. We had to wait until November to fulfill this request but that was fine, safety first. I was a bit concerned for the staff but my impression of the Tuestas was as good people and I was thankful for the arrangement so I bought a $300 teeth whitening kit in part as a good gesture.Dr. Trisha called me to address any concerns and seemingly all was set until 2 days later I get a call from admin, "I'm sorry but Dr Enrique says that he will not allow us to open the windows for you." When I asked why I was told their HVAC had all the bells and whistles. So I sent an email with links from the EPA and CDC that show that outside air is the best way to clear out potentially contaminated air and asked them to reconsider. No response so I emailed a few more times only to be ignored.I found the whole scenario odd and became more concerned for the staff. If they would not open the windows for their patients, are the employees able to open them?So I called OSHA and they say the windows should be open unless there is extreme heat/cold or the EPA air index was poor. They suggested I report the Tuestas to their enforcement department but I declined as I wanted to give them the opportunity to do the right thing.I emailed again and finally received a response from Dr Enrique which sounded like a sales pitch for their HVAC and they would be sticking to their protocols. At this point, it's clear they would rather lose us as patients rather than simply opening the windows while we get our teeth cleaned so I shared the OSHA regs and told them they need to inform their employees by Friday that the windows can be opened or OSHA will. They also had until Friday to agree to open the windows or I would elevate my issues to the dental regulatory board.I received an unfathomable email stating that they never denied opening the windows. Huh? They went out of their way to call me to tell me that they would not allow the windows to be open and backed their position on email. If the windows were not an issue there is no reason to go out of their way to call me to begin with.Dr. Trisha called me soon after to let me know that they were dropping us as patients and that the original phone call from them was a miscommunication and they meant to say they couldn't guarantee the windows would be open stating the weather could be a factor and it wouldn't be fair to the other patients if we had to reschedule.None of this plausible, it's 55° to 62° in Monterey at 8am 90% of the time and being the 1st appts would not interfere with their schedule. They had over a week to respond to my email with this caveat and I of course would agree, we've been there a dozen times and always got along with everyone, we're not unreasonable. I would gladly agree to pay a cancelation fee if we had to or buy another teeth whitening kit.It then occurred to me that the 'no open windows' phone call was likely punishment for rescheduling our appointments last minute and my hunch is now they are trying to paint me as a disgruntled patient who lied about their decision to keep their windows closed in case OSHA or the Dental Board takes up the issue.Shame really. Medical professionals going out of their way to punish patients who just want to feel safe by not breathing in random, potentially unvaccinated people's contaminated breath during a pandemic. It sucks to lose good dentists but it's worth it if the end result is the employees do indeed get to open the windows and have a safer work environment.

I absolutely love going here. Both my mom and I are patients and are always a bit anxious when we go to the dentist in general. The Tuestas made me feel welcome and comfortable from the moment I walked in. The girls at the front are so sweet. Lottie is one of the most amazing dental hygienist Ive ever had! Shes so gentle and encouraging. And lastly the Tuestas themselves. Theyre both incredibly kind and helpful. I love having them as my dental team.

Dr. Trisha is amazing!! She is by far the most amazing dentist I have ever had. She has done the best dental work I have ever received and is incredibly kind. You will not be disappointed with her as your dentist, I highly recommend her.

Husband and wife practice, who put on their best face at first obviously and then they show their true colors ...they're just milking their patients for more money. (Especially for things not covered my insurance)The husband runs this practice 100% and has started trying to implement Sleep Apnea protocols for his patients + new patients. Even if your a new patient who DOES NOT want it, you have to get a 3Dscan and he will tell you all about your throat and airways and how your sleeping, really trying to SELL IT to you, and make you feel like he knows what he's talking . Thank god I'm not oblivious / gullible and I can see through all that. The whole time I was wondering why I didn't just chose an office who would do my normal exam and talk to me about my teeth. However, this is a dental office, a GENERAL dental office....NOT an Ear, Nose, and Throat DOCTOR. Will not be returning, I will get a dentist who STICKS TO DENTAL!! and doesnt care about getting ahead with $$$$$ only.
