I provided my insurance, that they accepted. After work was completed (2 crowns) and 3 visits. I was informed they didn't participate in "my program". Meaning no accepted rate of pay on my insurance. Full charge, ouch, very expensive. Second, not satisfied with the quality of work. I have had to return 2 seperate times to get the crown adjusted. Experienced, sensitivity & discomfort. Won't be returning.

I have been going to the dental group on Fairground Rd since June of 2010. At first, I didn't mind them as I thought they did a good job. Then in August 2011, they said I had 4 or 5 cavities based on my x-rays. I found this odd as they did not have "watches" on any of my teeth prior. After getting an underestimate of what the costs would be, I ended up paying around $400 out of pocket (I have Tricare and United Concordia insurance). Then I went back in February of 2012 for a 6 month check-up which was a good experience; the dental hygenists there are really great. The front staff suggested I schedule my next appointment in June 2012 as I was going to be having a baby in August of 2012 which would have been my normal time for a 6 month cleaning. I made sure to ask them that United Concordia would cover this 6 month cleaning even though it was 2 months early. I was assured by the staff that it would be covered as long as I scheduled my next appointment 6 months after August (not June) to keep everything on track. Then this month (September 2012), I received a bill from them saying my insurance did not cover the June cleaning. I called them, and the office worker told me that United Concordia is very strict about you having to wait 6 months exactly. I was frustrated because I had specifically asked about that before scheduling my appointment 2 months early in June and was assured it would be covered. I have heard other military wives complain of this dental practice too saying they were told they had multiple cavities that needed fillings with no prior warning. Dentists I've had in the past have always told me that they're going to "keep an eye" on this tooth or that because they can detect damage before it becomes a full blown cavity. This is what makes this dental group seem a little sketchy as cavities seem to come out of no where, and you, the patient, are stuck with a huge out of pocket bill. Also, I felt it was bad customer service to assure me that my check-up would be covered when it wasn't. Basically, this dental group just makes me feel like I'm being scammed every time I get yet another bill; my husband and I have been very displeased with this dental group and would not recommend them to anyone.
