I was at the lowest point of my life and about to give up any hope of finding my way out of the total darkness of major depressive disorder. Like so many people that have fought depression for years, I had tried everything to ease the pain for over 40 years. I was made aware of a wonderful place in California that helps people like me. I researched and read any and all reviews I could find. I managed the strength to get to the Beach House in Malibu. I was virtually lifeless when I got there, but I told myself that this just might be the best opportunity I will have in my life. I listened, learned, did the work of changing the way I think about things every day. I dedicated everything that I had psychologically and committed myself like never before. Eventually, I was given the fundamentals to understand why I felt like I did before, along with priceless therapy by the most wonderful people that have ever worked with me prior to this. One day, in a group session with lots of people around, I stood up and said "I love me" for the first time in my life! At that moment, my journey to recovery began. Without hesitation, I will always recommend this place, these people and all of the resources here. This leap of faith to find help saved my life!! That's right, just as I was about to give up completely, the Beach House family took the time and effort to lead me toward the happiness that I enjoy today.

I have had three major depressive episodes in my life. Each episode was four to eight years apart. I run a large company in the Midwest and when the Beach House was recommend to me I must admit I was skeptical to say the least. The mere fact that this was also a treatment center for addiction gave me cause for pause. When I arrived at The Beach House I was at my lowest point in 12 years. The absolute miracles that occurred over my 30 days in program for depression and anxiety can not be described in this review. The total commitment to the healing process of body mind and spirit are beyond compare. Kimberly, Charlie, Art and Emily have built a team of professionals that are client focused and are invested in healing. The Beach House changed my life. Because of people like Morgan and Wendy who equipped me with a tool box full of tools for daily self care and a broad understanding of the biochemical aspects of depression and anxiety, I believe that major episodes are in my past. Every caregiver in The Beach House was committed to my recovery from Chris ride from the airport, to Jesses wit to Adams three mile runs. I will never forget my time with you. If every 51 year old man had an opportunity to come take a month and work on themselves with this team, the world would be a better place. God Bless you all.
