The Rosemary

An interesting stay! Loved the vibe and the location was pretty good for our needs. Room was definitely cosy, with a small window so not a lot of natural light. Would have loved some cutlery to be available for the meals we ate in, but the tea and coffee selection was great!

The good: Room was nice, location is pretty solid, and the decor is adorable. The spa tub in the tower room is excellent, and the balcony views were nice. The bad: I booked the private tower room and upon arrival, all windows were open but one window was broken and would not close properly. This made the noise from the street harder to block out. I also could NOT get the heating unit to work. I tried the remote and the power button on the unit. It did NOT respond at all and thus the room stayed rather chilly my whole stay. I also do not suggest using a third party booking as you WILL have communication and access issues that way, book through The Rosemary directly.

We ended up checking out early from The rosemary. We booked the Tower Suite room for 3 nights, and somehow we didnt realize that there was a shared bathroom outside of the room. Perhaps just the word suite, but we should have noticed this. The room is dark, which is nice for sleeping, but it was so cold. I slept in 2 jackets the first night until the little space heaters warmed the room. We looked everywhere for blankets and there werent any, and I was assured there were no extra blankets when I called the next day. We left after one night and booked a great hotel downtown that was $50 more, that was a major upgrade. The rosemary is a budget place, but for us the trade offers werent worth the price.

I both loved and was freaked out by this place lol. Absolutely beautiful and comfortable bedroom in the bottom of the tower. I had some late night scare in the shared kitchen and bathroom on the middle floor (innocent but its hard to navigate when you dont know who you are sharing space with and no grounds staff or rules). Parking was crazy and anarchic each time I had to park many blocks away. But I would probably still go back?
