I have been a property investor for over thirty years.  After working with various property management companies, I was introduced to Tamalpais Property Management through my realtor.  I've used Tamalpais to manage multiple properties in Sausalito and San Anselmo over the years and have been consistently pleased and very impressed with the expertise, professionalism and friendly demeanor of the staff and owner of Tamalpais Property Management.  I highly recommend Tamalpais Property Management.  I hold them in the highest regard.

I own multiple rental properties in the Bay area and recently used TPM for my first property in Marin county. In a word their performance was EXCELLENT. They were very knowledgeable about the market, priced the property appropriately and once a prospective tenant was identified they closed the tenancy thoroughly and expeditiously. I will use them for all future listings in their market.

Lee and his team do a great job of balancing costs with maintaining property value and ROI, and responding to landlord/tenant needs. Excellent management company: effective marketing and pricing; fast and efficient text/online/phone communication; and the use of solid subcontractors. High integrity.

I rented from Lee/TPM from 2011-2021, 10yrs!  During this time I also rented out a home I owned in the Southeast US, so my review is in two parts.With regards to renting from Lee/TPM, my experience could not have been better.  They have an online portal that allows you to pay your rent as well as make maintenance requests.  Easy peasy.  The TPM team is very prompt at letting you know they received a maintenance request and the details of when the work will be done.  And they are always available by phone.  As a tenant, you know where you stand with TPM.  The lease is your contract and they abide by it, as should the tenant!!  My unit was inspected annually, just a walk through to check on smoke detectors, fire extinguishers etc.  I thought if it as a sort of "wellness check" for the unit.  48 or more hours notice was given both in writing and email.  And this is my segue into the 2nd part of the review.  As I stated earlier, I owned a home in the SE and rented it with a property management company there.  In the 10yrs that I used that particular company, they apparently never did a walk through.  Ever.  When it came time to sell the home, I was faced with deferred maintenance out the wazoo and a hoarder renting my home.  The kind of situation that gives property owners nightmares!  That "wellness check" of a unit, that's for the property owner.  I learned a little too late that no word from my management company didn't mean everything was OK with my property.  It meant that the management company was NOT doing their job!  So, if you are a Marin property owner considering TPM as a potential management company...do it!  Look no further!  Your home and your investment will be safe with TPM.   Their name should actually be TPPM...for Tamalpais Professional Property Management.  Because that's what Lee and the team are...professionals.
