Buyers forfeited $29,000 deposit after 5 months of escrow. "The underwriter was fired... was on vacation... is backlogged.... we changed lenders...." "My dog ate the loan docs" was the only excuse they didn't use during 5 months of hell.
On and on it went, for 5 months, 2 of those waiting for an appraisal. We finally threw them out, kept buyer's deposit and resold the house, closing in 30 days. I would feel sorry for the buyers, but we tried get them to dump this broker when they bungled the appraisal.and they wouldn't. $29,000 mistake there.
Borrower beware. Run, don't walk, away from this broker, or risk a similar fate. Pathetic.
