Residence Inn by Marriott San Diego La Jolla

Stayed here for a month due to displacement from flooding. It has pet friendly rooms and semi spacious suites. Most staff are very helpful and accommodating. There is a good selection of breakfast choices and meh coffee. Only downs are: There is no happy hour and only 1 laundry service for the entire complex. It is also right off Gilman which is a fairly busy road. Nearby activities: The beach is as bout 1.5 miles away which is a nice stroll especially the tidal pool during high tides. Food & drinks: You are within 1 mile of large supermarkets, restaurants and a movie theatre.

Being a former Ambassador, now a Titanium member is NOT WORTH IT. You have to spend 1/3 every year (100 nights) living there PLUS $23K to maintain being an Ambassador with garbage benefits. They don't even upgrade your room! Only good things (and I being generous) are check in/out early and free breakfast if they have it (other locations) other than that it's all the same as a beginner. Also, there is no fast wifi interface for loyal members (Titanium/Ambassador). It's a joke, and I feel robbed.

This was our first time staying at a Residence Inn. We decided on this particular hotel since it had a full kitchen. Another good feature of the room was that it had a fireplace. The room itself is kind of outdated but it was very clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly. The only hiccup was the front desk receptionist when we checked in. The receptionist was somewhat distant and not very friendly. Parking was not expensive either, as it was at $25 a day. The hotel location is at a great location, and UC San Diego is very close. The beach is only about 10 minutes away, and San Diego is about 15 minutes away. The overall hotel was very quiet, safe, and enjoyable. There are many grocery stores and retail shops nearby. The free breakfast was decent. Overall, it was a great stay.
