If this place is going to tell patients that specific procedures are covered by insurance, they need to absorb the cost if they were wrong.

This office charged my friend almost $700 for a service he said would be covered by insurance. Go somewhere else!

Last week I went in for pain I was having in my tooth. Dr C diagnosed the problem, a cracked tooth. I was rescheduled with the surgeon De Gamarnick. At first there were discussions about extracting the tooth. Dr G evaluated and determined a crown would work with a minor surgical procedure. I'm so happy I was able to keep the tooth. Dr G explained the entire process from start to finish. Thank you!!!

I think Dr. Christensen is on the edge of a break down and likes to add unnecessary procedures for money.

I used to visit this Dentist every year when I lived in OC. I moved to Hollywood 2 years ago and found a new dentist. Recently, I received a bill for $700 from Dr. Christensen's office. Mind you the bill had no explanation. After multiple attempts to calling to office to obtain this, I received a breakdown of charges. Over 3 years ago I received a deep cleaning that was recommended to me. I was hesitant as I never needed this in the past. They assured me that due to the condition of my mouth/pockets in my gums my insurance would cover this. I went forward. 3+ years later this office has the audacity to try and collect pretty much the full cost for this procedure. When I got in touch with the dental office, they stated that insurance would not cover this. I then asked, why was I told it would be covered (I would not have gotten a $700 procedure that I didn't really think was necessary in the first place). She stated that they thought it would be covered, but the insurance determined that my mouth was not "bad" enough to get a deep clean. I told the office manager I would not be paying this as I was told it would be covered by my insurance. She then preceded to say I signed a paper stating that if insurance does not cover this, I am responsible (after I was repeatedly told it would be covered by insurance when deciding if I should get the deep clean). The office said, I would need to contact the insurance company at this point to find out why....WHAT?!.... you all are the experts with dealing with insurance. Anywho, I called my insurance company and they had no idea what I was talking about saying there were 9 claims filed on the date I called in about and I needed to be more specific. Long story short I got nowhere. Moral of the story, Dr. Christensen's office will convince you to get a procedure done that you may not need, state insurance will cover it and if they don't, you will be out hundreds of dollars. I just moved back to Orange County and I will absolutely NOT be going here for my dental work, nor would I recommend to anyone.
