I am just saying from my experience while learning at that school, it was a great school growing up, but some teachers didn't have logic. (I don't know if the teachers are still there, but it is just my experience growing up there). One teacher that didn't have logic is Ms. Smith. When my brother was in 4th, he asked my parents if he could eat at home, but they asked why since they served breakfast in the classrooms at the time. He said because his teacher made everyone throw away the MAIN PART OF THE MEAL, and had them eat only fruit. Of course my dad made a complaint, but nothing really changed. I also remember in 3rd grade, the class I was in had to finish so many pages (I can't even remember the amount, like 30, 45?) in just 1 HOUR. Most of the class, if they didn't finish all those pages, had to go to another. I also remember another thing about Ms. Smith. According to my brother, (there is nothing wrong with it, but it felt kinda wrong) she only taught black history, not even hispanic history, not history in general, just black history. She was also saying that my brother's close friend, was a bad kid and needed to be disciplined more, but he did absolutely nothing wrong. The book fair was even better. A few people in my class were blamed for stealing legos, and one girl I knew, sure she had a bad reputation, but she didn't do it because she wasn't even near the legos. The people that did steal the legos weren't disciplined as much as they should. Also, I personally didn't like YDP because they made us sit there quietly, to d outr homework or to read a book. We didn't go outside much. But the positive things I am going to say (because this can't be all bad) is that from my experience there, there hasn't been almost any bully problems that I know of. And as a kid, I loved the computer room. Most of the teachers were also really nice, and everyone always looked forward to the harvest fest, or the 5th VS Staff softball game. Then again, this was just my experience over the years, because I haven't even seen the school in years.

I would give it a better rating, but for my son's 4th grade teacher is the reason for the rating. This is my son's first year at the school and from before Christmas break and until today the teacher has been horrible in every way. Mrs. Smith doesn't believe a single word my son's says, he has been picked on and bilulliec on more then one occasions by kids in his class, but she doesn't believe a word he tells her. He is struggling in math is she tryi g to help him nope not a bit, her excuses are "I have s lot of kids in my class" so becsuse u have a lot of kids in your class you choose not to help the kids that are struggling, that's not how it is supposed to be. A teacher is supposed to help the students not leave the on a island to fend for themselves. Anything goes wrong in the class she blames my son and kicks him out of class. She had kicked my son out the class pretty much every day since coming back from Christmas break. How is my son supposed to learn if u keep kicking him out of the classroom everyday 3 to 4 times a day. We had our parent teacher conference with the principal present and when asked why hasn't she try this method or at least a daily progress report Mrs. Smith's response is I don't do that this year or I stoped doing that last year, but this is the principal asking why hasn't she taken these steps to try and find a solution? Mrs. Smith response no I don't do those things, so she does nothing to try and help the my son succeed in the class, just throw him on and island on his own. She had the nerve to tell my wife and I that our son is just a horrible child, and that very same day she told my son to shut up in the classroom, I heard that I nearly went off the deep end but I didn't wanna be one of those parents, but she was pushing it. No teacher is supposed to talk to a student that way. I'm filling a formal complaint towards my son's teacher not the school but the teacher because she is just wrong on so many levels in being a teacher. I went to this school as a kid from kindergarten all the way to fifth grade and graduate, I wanted my son to do the same here but because of Mrs. Smith that's not gonna happen. The one paying the price here is my son because of a horrible, disrespectful not trained proply, pitty, just poor excuse of a person call g themselves a teacher.
