I needed 6 windows replaced for a condo unit and had gotten 4 quotes. The quote from Dirk at Cal-Star was the most reasonable. I'm a straight-shooter and don't like any bullcrap talk. Several of the quotes I got are priced way above average and they offer "discounts" but still high. Dirk gave me a reasonable price I didn't have to negotiate. After placing the order, it took exactly one week to get the windows and Jose & his assistant came to do the installation 4 days later. For those shopping for windows, it's important to understand that *installation* is more important than the windows themselves. I've seen installers rip out the entire aluminum window frame before installing the replacement vinyl windows; that's a big NO-NO! The guys at Cal-Star know what they were doing. Dirk's window measurements were spot-on. The guys installing the windows were careful to remove the old windows and putting the vinyl ones in. The windows are aligned so that the reveal is even and vertical (this is so important). They sprayed foam all around, twice. The trim job and caulking/sealant was clean. On the outside, they mask the windows before applying sealant. They cleaned up, mounted the blinds back on the windows, and left the job site spotless. I would use these guys again if I ever need more windows.

Robert came out and took our measurements. They were able to install all our 2nd floor windows in one day! AND only a 2 week delivery! Other quote I received would have to wait almost 5 weeks! Their staff were very neat, very clean! Great job by their crew. Now to get the downstairs done!
