Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort & Spa

This review is for dining: Forget the hype. I spent $130 as a solo diner on dinner and I left hungry and dissatisfied. I ordered the 6 oz petite filet, 2 sides and a desert. I asked the waitress if the filet was normally this small because it was the tiniest piece of meat Ive ever seen in my life. The potatoes which are basically fries were horrible. Tasteless and dry. I much prefer mashed potatoes. I dont remember the other side or the desert. SUPER DISAPPOINTING.

Nice and clean hotel. However there are so many additional fees after you book. I wish they would add them into the nightly rate instead of surprise fees when you check in. If you have kids, the resort fee may be worth it, due to a kids pool. I dont know if I would stay here again. Nearby activities: Beach and main road nearby.

We just spent the weekend here and it was quite nice. Lately when we want a weekend getaway we've gone to the Blue Lantern Inn, but the Blue Lantern seemed expensive this time in comparison, so we tried Laguna Cliffs and I have no complaints. The food in the restaurant was great, they unexpectedly gave us a room with a partial ocean view, the bed was comfortable, it was quiet, all the workers were nice. With multiple pools it seems like quite a nice place for kids. Again, no complaints. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and would definitely come back. Rooms: Our king-bed room with partial ocean view was quite nice. Mostly we overlooked the pool, but we could see part of the harbor and the ocean beyond as well. Walkability: There are restaurants (both nice and casual) within walking distance (under half a mile), as well as the restaurant and lounge in the hotel.
