        Been in town for 5 days, ate at various restaurants. Schmidts House of Jambalaya is the best in town...hands down!

        Don't let it's modest size fool you, this is place is amazing. We only had 2 dishes, the fish and chips and the shrimp bisque. The fish and chips was good, but the shrimp bisque was NEXT LEVEL. Not too creamy and very generous on the seafood. I recommend asking for a big bowl. It says on the menu its a little spicy but it's really not spicy, just a little peppery. It was so good we went back the next night. You can sit and look at the beach that gives the city it's name, grab an ice cream cone, then go walk across the parking lot to spy some lounging sea lions. Very friendly service. Will be back next time I'm in town and will be thinking about the shrimp bisque for weeks.
