While some things have changed over the last few decades, El Pollo Loco's delivery of fresh, authentic food has not. I went there to grab a bite, and let me tell you frankly: the bathrooms were a messno toilet paper, no napkins, and the floor was soaked. All the tables were sticky and greasy as if no one bothered to clean them in ages. The soda machine was not clean either, and for an unknown reason, the lid to the tea machine was wide open, leaving the tea exposed to unsanitary elements. To top it off, there was a scruffy dog running around, adding to the chaos. It was running up to customers and climbing on chairs. When I asked whose dog it was, nobody knew until finally, a guy claimed it was his. When I questioned if it was a service dog, he said no. So, I brought it up with the manager, who initially said it was fine until I threatened to involve law enforcement and health inspectors. Discreetly in Spanish, the manager quietly instructed him to take the dog out.
This establishment is utterly repulsive and fails to meet even the most basic standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
