Very disappointed in the Costa Mesa Marriott. I've been trying to get a hold of someone to correct an invoice since last week and no one is doing what they say they will or giving me a call back. The first gentleman i spoke with agreed that they used the wrong code and that he would send me a corrected invoice. He never did. I'm just trying to get them to label a pet fee correctly. It is incredibly easy to change a GL code. But you'd think I was asking for a free boat ride around the lake from the accountant himself. This is easy. Just fix it. Terrible customer service and incredibly over priced for what you get. They claim the rooms are renovated, but you definitely wouldn't know that from the state of mine. The carpet was stained and torn. The balcony looked sketchy at best. The paint is a landlord special and a half. The couches look like they're from a frat house with all the mystery stains. I have a photo of it all from when I first walked in the door but don't seem to be able to post it to this review. Looking at other recent reviews though, it looks like everyone is experiencing the same things I did. But since I had just moved from a Residence Inn full of bugs the week before, I didn't want to deal with moving again and I wear shoes inside. From now on, I'll ask to move every time. Or I'll just switch to Hilton and get a charge back from this mess. The only thing nice about this place is the lake outside that's probably not solely maintained by them. There's so many Marriotts in the area. Definitely avoid this one.

The staff is kind and attentive but This place is an absolute dump. Im not sure why it says rooms are recently renovated. This place looks like it hasnt been touched since the late 90s. 250.00 a night for this is absurd. I feel like Im staying in a roadside motel when Im in my room with a stained couch, not so well cleaned bathroom, disgusting carpet, dirty drapes, and Im terrified of the itchy, scratchy, sheets. I cannot wait to get out of here.

Beware. If you book a room for a King bed suite, the Marriott Hotel at Costa Mesa CA can change your purchase room to two twin beds when they are sold out. They will not refund your purchase or upgrade your accommodation. There is no recourse. Essentially it is a bait and switch scenario. You can either take the lower value accommodation or you can leave and still no refund. Beware of Bait and Switch. Avoid this Hotel. The night front manager was unprofessional and rude. Accommodation review. Bad things: Likewise. Like other reviews. There is no soap or shampoo. The water pressure is very low and you cannot get a good shower. The room is old and dated. The towels are worn down, dry, and rough on your skin. Interesting Stains on the carpets (please wear your shoes/slippers). Good thing: Not much. Location is close to the attractions. Bed appears to be clean. Overall: This is probably one of the worst Marriott that I been to. This Marriott needs new management and hospitality training. Avoid this Marriott at Costa Mesa CA. Rooms: Old and dated. Carpet unclean and stain. Very low water pressure.

You know, Im not usually one to complain but this was not a great experience for me. First of all, there was dust everywhere. The place was not really clean. The shower had dirty and mold. I didnt even use that it was so gross. See photo The carpets were dingy and worn out. The beds were like what you would get from a cheap motel. It was so uncomfortable that I tossed and turned all night. I booked through USAA and there was also no mention that it would be almost $50 for parking and of course by the time I got there it was too late to cancel. I mentioned this to the front desk and the person was rude. She stated it was listed on their website. It was hidden at the bottom. However, they need to disclose prices on partner websites as well because it was no where to be found when I booked. Breakfast is also not included which it has been at most hotels Ive been too. Overall for a hotel at this price, I would expect more. Unfortunately, if this is the standard, I wont be staying at Marriott again.

I am deeply dissatisfied with our recent hotel experience. From the moment we arrived, it was evident that transparency and guest satisfaction were not priorities. They conveniently failed to disclose parking fees, leaving us with an unexpected expense. Upon entering the room, I noticed partially used soaps, indicating poor hygiene practices. Furthermore, housekeeping rudely awakened us at 8 am, despite checkout not being until noon. The presence of yellow dots on the bathroom ceiling, likely from drug use, poses a serious health risk, especially to children. Additionally, vague responses about breakfast and extra charges added to the frustration. To top it off, the hotel neglected to inform us of pool and hot tub hours until we attempted to use them. Lastly, encountering elevator issues further highlighted the hotel's disregard for maintenance and guest safety. Overall, this experience was marred by hidden costs, hygiene concerns, and a blatant disregard for guest comfort and safety. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel until they address these issues and prioritize the well-being of their guests.
