Best Western Plus Newport Mesa Inn

Everything was really nice and while under construction I had no issues. I would've given five stars but at checkout the front desk seemed annoyed when I had a question about pricing? I asked about how my charge seems inaccurate and he explained it was a 50 dollar safety deposit in a very annoyed attitude. I should've read more thoroughly but the attitude was unwelcoming. He also seemed "dry" as my partner described it when they had a separate interaction with him. Maybe he was just having a bad morning? However, they have really nice amenities and the rooms are very cleanly.

We always choose Best Western when we can. Our last stay in Moab, Utah was awesome. This hotel pales in comparison. I understand some things are under construction, but our room appears to be completed. We checked in (room 204) about an hour ago and here are the immediate issues: 1. The room is incredibly dark, even with all available lights on. Darkest hotel room Ive been in. (What do hotels have against decent lighting?!) 2. The roll away cot we requested is AWFUL! You a feel the metal bars against you (even a small child) through the terrible mattress and sagging metal mesh. We ended up putting the mattress on the floor. Ugh. I feel bad my child has to sleep on the floor. I spoke to front desk and was told this is the only available cot and there isnt anything else they can do. He didnt seem too bothered about it. 3. There was no microwave in our room. I called the front desk and was told not every room has one. But maintenance did bring us one, thankfully. 4. For the bathtub/shower, red is cold and blue is hot. Huh?! Our room is quiet and away from sounds of traffic, so we are grateful for that. But these items need some serious attention. Weve only just arrived, so hopefully we dont discover more issues. Rooms: Very dark room, AWFUL roll away, may not have microwave, in shower red is cold and blue is hot. Our room is quiet.

Would definitely stay here again nice hotel with heated pool and has a jacuzzi. Staff are very friendly and it has good parking

room is decent sized, comfy beds but they're double, not queen. the gentleman who checked me in made the process smooth after a bumpy start. they won't let you take breakfast out (to your room...) which makes me think there's been lots of sketchy people coming in for free breakfast from outside, or the hotel is cheap, either way i don't see good because of this policy. i also an not crazy about the inadequate ventilation in the garage basement and the eery, quiet, dead end, no exit basement parking lot. feels like someone could be taken advantage of there and no one would know. didn't see any cameras either. maybe it's just me
