Dr. Gomez is the only dentist I've had throughout my entire life, for good reason. He treats me very well and develops a good relationship with all his patients. His receptionist is kind and they get me in and out very quickly and to my liking. Every instrument used is clean and sanitary. I receive a phone call from Dr. Gomez and his staff to see how I'm doing after treatment and they set up a return visit so I don't have to. His office is conveniently located on 3rd avenue and his prices are very fair. I recommend Dr. Gomez to everyone. I got my braces put on and removed here and my teeth have looked PERFECT ever since. I couldn't be happier with my new smile. I'm not afraid of cameras anymore.

Luis Gomez was my dentist for approximately 30 years and I'm not sure what happened but I will never go to him again. When I began treatment with him back in the 80's he had a wonderful assistant (Lily - who was a dentist in the Phillipines) and a wonderful office manager (Mengi (sp?) who was also awesome). He let got of Mengi after "many years" and just prior to that his practice went downhill drastically. He had to replace a crown (which I'm still having problems with 5 years later) 4 times because the work was so bad. He also performed a root canal on me that he should have never performed. Then to top it all off when I had a question about my billing he didn't have the courtesy to even respond to me. Instead he had brought in some family member who was extremely rude, unqualified and a royal pain in the A. I paid him off and haven't returned since. Very sad after a family-like friendship for many years.

I usually never write negative reviews, but after my experience today at Smile Design Center in Chula Vista, i just had to. I went in to cancel/reschedule my appt. because since i'm pregnant i can't get an x-ray done. Dr. Gomez told me that as long as I was past my 1st trimester, then it would be no problem. I told him that that's not what my midwife had told me. From there he started saying that if i had a physician then he would recommend otherwise. I told him that a midwife is just as qualified, and he argued with me saying that a midwife is not. Basically, he was making me feel that i did not have a "real" Dr. treating my pregnancy therefore my midwife didn't know what she was talking about. He told me not to come back until i was "zero months" and he signaled that with his fingers. During this whole back and forth, he was very condescending.At that point, the receptionist asked me if i wanted to reschedule my appointment once my baby was born. I declined, and walked out. What i can't believe is that this dentist (which i may add, in his qualifications noted on yelp it does not include that he is an expert or knowledgeable in midwifery) so how can he state that a midwife is not as qualified as a physician?! That is not part of his field. (i wish i would have responded quickly and told him this before i walked out...but i got emotional and had a brain block)This dentistry office made a pregnant women feel unwelcomed and made me leave with tears in my eyes. I would have given ZERO stars, but it wouldn't allow me to. I had to put 1.

I'v been going to DR. Gomez for over 20 years he's an amazing DR. i had orthodontic treatment done 20 years ago and been going to DR. Gomez sence:), and just recently 4 months ago i fractured a tooth and had an implant places and a crown 2 months after:) in time for the holidays. Amazing Dentist!!
