Casa Montessori de Carlsbad

I am giving this school a low rating for several reasons. First, it is not an accredited Montessori school, although they have the Montessori toys, and the school is extremely clean, they do not follow the methodology by a long shot. If that is what you are expecting and wanting, go elsewhere. Second, My experiences with Shannon Bingham were absolutely insane. Not only did she admit to recording zoom calls, but she never got our consent. When I asked for her to send them she then backtracked. It is a crime in CA to record a conversation without the consent of both parties. Third, after asking to observe the classroom multiple times, and being told multiple times that this was always open to me, in the end, Shannon only offered to allow a paid child therapist to observe. Unbelievable. Fourth, because I am always quick to believe that perhaps it is just me, I found that in fact, it is NOT just me. Multiple parents in my childs class pulled their kids out at the same time that I did. Also, wanted to know how parents in the past have felt, so when I dug into some reviews of the school, I found that on one site (including this one), 4 out of 5 of the reviews were from none other than Shannon herself, her husband Michael Bingham, and two former teachers there. Do you think this is Misleading? The new director there is fantastic, so I hope things change, but Shannon will speak to you in a condescending, saccharine manner while implying you are a no-good parent if your child is anything less than perfect (a 3 year old having trouble sitting still? Must need therapy!). Please

We are in LOVE with the school, teachers and everyone who works there. Our son felt right at home from day one. The school offers a thoughtfully designed curriculum that fosters creativity, exploration and cooperation. Administration is always available to answer questions and we feel well informed. Most importantly, our son can't wait to go to school everyday to greet his teachers with a big hug.
