Redeemer by the Sea Lutheran Church, Kindergarten & Preschool

Absolutely love this school. My oldest started last year in TK and we loved it so much we kept her here for kinder. My youngest started this year. The staff is warm and welcoming and my daughters are learning and thriving in this environment. The campus has a nice set up with a great outdoor space that feels so comfortable and safe.

Redeemer Preschool is beyond amazing. I only have positive things to say about this school. The staff is INCREDIBLE. Rhonda and Lindsey in the front office have gone above and beyond for us, as they do for everyone. They want to make sure they answer all of your questions (and I always have a lot lol). When you call the school, Rhonda always answers so you can speak to someone live at all times. Another amazing thing about Redeemer, the school is so safe. Rhonda and Lindsey, know exactly who comes in that gate and who leaves. They stand outside and don't leave until everyone is in and out. My child has Ms. Tori and Ms. Cami for his teachers. They are the sweetest, kindest, and happiest teachers. As I'm sure all redeemer teachers are. I was a very nervous parent doing preschool for the first time with my oldest. Lindsey, the director, calmed me and accommodated a few of my requests to make the transition easiest on our family. The best way to describe the school environment is they make you feel like family. They genuinely care and make sure your child feels safe and comfortable. If you are looking for a school to meet your needs, this school will surpass your expectations. My youngest starts this year. Rhonda, Lindsey, Ms. Tori, and Ms. Cami go out of their way to say hi to my youngest and create a relationship now so when it comes to his time to attend school he will be calm and excited. Both my children will stay with Redeemer through Preschool-Kindergarten. Thank you Redeemer for making my worries disappear.

We've been with Redeemer Preschool since 2019 - sending my daughters here was the BEST decision we've made for our family! The admin staff, Ms. Malloy and Ms. Rhonda go out of their way to build personal relationships with every single parent, child and even siblings! They have done an exceptional job creating such a safe, fun and creative learning environment. Ms. Tori and Ms. Cami are fantastic! They do such an excellent job making learning fun and it's obvious how much they truly care about their students. With 2 teachers in each class and smaller class sizes, I know my girls receive a ton of 1-1 time and attention. I am able to communicate with the teachers directly at pick ups/drop offs, see the classroom and a white board with highlights from the day. Communication is key for me and they truly go above and beyond! The campus is beautiful, secure and so inviting... my daughters often aren't ready to leave school when I pick them up. That speaks volumes!!  My husband and I could not be happier with the intellectual, emotional and social growth that we've seen from our daughters since being at Redeemer Preschool. We are SO GRATEFUL!

Buyer beware! We learned the hard lesson of paying the non refundable deposit at this school. We were under the assumption that covid guidelines would be enforced from county regulations. After our son attended a couple days of school, we realized what they presented was very different than what they practiced. After discussing with the director we decided that their enforcement was not what we originally signed up for. We lost our deposit when we withdrew our son because we believed the director lied to us and defended her employees about a simple issue. We thought it was a good school, in a great area and very moderately priced, but were sadly disappointed. Redeemer is very good at sales and getting your deposit. The business model at this school is: great sales, secure deposits, and accept waitlisting lists- but when you find out what you are getting at this school it's very different than what they sell. Covid has made this a difficult time, but there are certain rules that businesses need to follow. Redeemer does not follow these guidelines and they say they do. Looking at the other reviews it seems like I'm not the only one who has lost deposits here, that is sad this is what their business is about. We are happy now at a different preschool that does not require 1 month tuition up front- also our new preschool keeps doors and windows open for ventilation which Redeemer does not.

I'll preface this review by noting that our experience was a few years ago, with a previous director. Two months after our 3 year old daughter started at Redeemer, she was diagnosed with cancer, and had to stay home for treatment the rest of the school year. By that point, she was already attached to her teachers and classmates, several of whom she knew even before starting there. Seven days after her diagnosis, I specifically emailed the director asking that her spot be saved for her, as we were going to fight as hard as we could for her to get better, and return to her class. By the spring, I realized I hadn't heard from the school about fall enrollment, and when I emailed the director, she said our daughter's spot was taken and she could be put on a waitlist. Our then- four year old daughter had fought hard and bravely to be able to return to normal life and her class- she would have been devastated to not return to her teachers and friends- and after a lengthy email and offer to go to the local news with our story, her spot fortuitously opened up. After her treatment was done, we also heard from several parents in the school that they had tried to plan fundraisers and other events for our daughter, but all of those ideas were shot down by the director. All of her teachers there were good teachers, in fairness, but hopefully your child won't get a life-threatening illness while at Redeemer, because our experience with a supposed Christian school is that you will get no support at all.
